righto, i`m about ready to buy one of these but have a few questions first.
1. is the mp3 player comparable to the n gage in quality and function (this is the main thing i will use it for)
2. what is the battery life like, again compared to n gage.
3. is there a radio (tho i don`t think there is)
4. do you get a stereo hands free included in the box (and indeed is the phone stereo)
thanks very much for any replies................regards, chris

I really fancy one of these phones too. They are a lot more expensive than the Ngage though arent they? I am in Oz at the moment and you can watch TV on the optus network with the 6600 - can you do it in the UK yet?

Though the N Gage and the 6600 share the same OS, (Symbian), in a real world scenario the 6600 wins hands down.
For a start you can play N Gage games on the 6600, (providing you have a big enough memory card), customise it to your exact requirements, and also have the added bonus of a nice camera and video record/replay.
Ogster, to answer your questions;

It`s important to remember that the 6600 MP3 application is mono only. Function wise, it`s great, but only mono sound. The update of the 6600, the 6620, (see foot of page), will address this.

Battery life is fine. Start hammering the applications such as Bluetooth, IR and playing games, taking photo`s and watching video`s, and, just like any other phone, the battery will die out quicker. Used in moderation, it`s excellent for a phone of this type.

No, the 6620 will have this function.

No, as the 6600 is only monaural, stereo is out. I had a singular mono hands free with mine, but it was part of the deal so check whether Nokia ship a hands free with the phone as standard. Bluetooth is the way to go for hands free. I have a Nokia one and it`s fantastic quality. What could be better? Leave your phone on charge upstairs, talk with the Bluetooth headset on downstairs :D
They may be more expensive than an N Gage, but are worth every penny. At present, there are no `live` tv streams in the UK that support the 6600, but that may well be round the corner.

Top phone, but also look out for the updated model, the 6620
See Nokia`s press release for more info. :)

cheer`s westy, looks like i`ll have to wait for the 6620. the 6600 is no good to me whatsoever, as i need stereo sound and in all honesty the n gage is better laid out to play games, only thing i can see that the 6600 offers is a camera, and i had that on my old 3650 and sold it due to needing better sound, in fact apart from a better screen i can`t see any improvement between the 6600 and 3650 ? (apart from cosmetic) and the price of the 6600 is far to high when for my need`s the phone is a step down :(
6620 look`s interesting but how cool is this http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/4237.html

Do you think the nokia 6620 will be better than the siemens sx1?
I believe the siemens has 24mb internal memory as well as the features that are on the nokia.
The only obvious problem with the sx1 seems to be the keypad.
