Mobile Phone Locked

Right chaps! I'm not the brightest when it comes to mobile phones, so please forgive my ignorance.

My daughter gave me a SAGEM MC920 Mobile on the Vodafone PAYT System. When I put my SIM card in and switched it on I got a message reading "PayT Locked". How do I get it unlocked and what do I do?

All help appreciated.
