Epson R200 & compatible (Nexus) ink carts

hunsbury0 (Elite) posted this on Sunday, 5th September 2004, 15:57

I have installed a new printer epson R200 with compatible inks (Nexus) ,but the printer has recognised that these are not Epson, and it comes up with
Black: T0481
Cyan: T0482
Light Cyan: T0485
Magenta: T0483
Light Magenta: T0486
Yellow: T0484
The genuine EPSON ink cartridges listed above are recommended for replacement. Click the How to button for ink cartridge installation instructions.
How do i bypass this??
Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thankyou

have you worked this out yet? I`ve got a set on order and would rather avoid having to send them back.

did the printer go through the charge cycle etc ? and did you rip the tabs off befoere fitting them ? (i only ask as the originals don`t have a tab, but the copy`s do )

EDIT=on a lighter note, i`ve found a local supplier that does a full set for £8.99p :) so if you live near bolton, pm me and i`ll give you the details

£8.99 is cheap, very cheap. Pity I`m in Cardiff :(

Maybe this is a sign that the prices are coming down. Have you tried the £8.99 ones yet?

If you select "how to" option, it gives step by step instructions, it gets stuck on this
"Place the cartridge into the cartridge holder. Push the cartridge down until it clicks into place, then close the cartridge cover and the printer cover."
I am tempted to try the originals (epson) & see what happens. I had intended to sell them on ebay for about £30 & use that money to buy compatible carts.
I had removed the tabs as per the instructions.
Nexus carts are £12 delivered.

problem is, once the remanufactured carts have been removed i don`t think they will work again, something to do with the way the ink flows once the "bottom" seal is broken (oooeeer)

just fitted a black cart (one of the £8.99p ones) seems perfect, no smudging no messages saying it`s not an official epson cart (i had that message every time i printed with the pheonix cart) so all in all, very happy :D the guy does nk for laods of other printers + cd-r`s dvd-r`s etc etc, i`ll deffo be using him again.
