NO1FAN (Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 6th October 2004, 16:43

Hi I`m new here so hello to all.

I have been having problems with a driver on my graphics card so I had to disable the driver In order to stop the computer crashing. The problem Is a cannot find a driver compatible with It to get It to work properly again.

My Graphics card Is Nvidia FX5200 the available download on the Nvidia website doesn`t work does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do?

Many thanks In advance

I had the same sort of problem on this pc just after it was new last December, mine`s the FX5600 graphics card. I did all the Windows updates etc to get everything up to date, and it picked an nVidia driver update up to do too. So I let it update it.

I had the same sort of trouble as you describe, and eventually tried rolling back the driver to the previous version that came installed on the pc. All the problems went away, so I stuck with that driver instead.

It still shows an update to do on Windows Update for it, but I just ignore it, as it`s trying to install that driver again. The version of driver I`m using now is 5.3.0.3 which is the one that was originally installed on my pc when I got it.

The Windows Update often lists out of date for Nvidia cards so ignore them.

If the latest one is giving problems try here for older ones.
