nyeh. you shouldnt worry about it. I look at it the way i look at people who copy jackass stunts.

It`ll teach em for being so stupid. If there were no dumbasses in the world then this kind of thing wouldnt happen. If you dont read the full ts + cs of an auction you deserved to get burned, tbh.

What im listening to (if youre interested)

No I think you you should continue to warn them, just because someone is naive doesn`t make them an idiot. It is surprising someone with as much feedback has won the auction, it`d be easier to understand a newbie buying it (the link that is) :/

NB I am not supplying this phone. You are bidding for the link to a website where you can buy a Nokia 6230 simlar to the one in the picture for only £20:00.

I mean if your going to able to buy the phone for 20 quid why would you bid £180 ?.

Thing is, all his feedbacks (all good) when you look are for selling real phones. The note about it not being an actual phone is hidden right at the bottom of a huge list of boring technical data that no-one would read, and he`s included the details at the top of the auction in the titley bit for a real phone. People may be a bit stupid not to see it, but he definitely sets out to deliberately deceive.

Just look at the scam here. Hidden right at the bottom of the page , after a very long detailed description of the game , is the line
Quote:
Win this auction and ill send you the website address where you can get fifa 2005 for just £31.99, brand new and factory sealed, you wont find cheaper anywhere.the website is a well known high street chain, however you need to know the website address to get it so cheap.

(or just look on this site for free and get it much cheaper too)
I bet the buyers on this or any of the guy`s other auctions (all links for games pre-order) thought they were actually buying the game.
His feedback , now showing a good few negatives , is private. A few days ago when I looked it wasn`t private and included mostly positive feedback - some even saying that they were very pleased with the product they have received and this was for pre-orders on games which have not yet been released !! What Ebayer leaves positive feedback as a buyer until they at least have the goods in their hands ? Possibly a phoney Ebayer buying his own `goods` and then leaving glowing feedback.

LOL! that really is scandolus :o Its not even the cheapest price on the net and by the time you`ve paid him (or her) £9.99 and the £31.99 yeah could buy it on the highstreet cheaper.

LMAO! Since when were eBay cracking down? :p All eBay are bothered about are FVF`s and listing fees to line their profits. Scams, theft etc? Well they are `only a venue` and have `buyer beware` written at the bottom of most of their pages so that gets them off the hook.

If I had a penny for every person I have helped on the eBay boards who fall for these scams I would be a very rich woman. ;)

The simple fact of the matter is:
a) people are stupid
b) people are greedy
c) people do not bother to read the listing`s T&C`s, all they will read is the title and go straight to bid

A cobination of one or all three of these factors is what keeps these scammers in business. A few months, a link scammer (that`s what they are known as) came onto the eBay boards and was openly brqagging about how he was making about £2-300 a day from selling these links. :o

By the way oggie, if you inform other people that these type of auctions are scams, did you know that your account could be suspended? It`s called auction interference and if someone complained, no matter how good your intentions are, it is your account that will be closed. The only thing you can do in this situation is report them, but even then there is no guarantee the auctions will be stopped or the scammers won`t just set up a new account.

the reason ebay Had been cracking down is because pyramid schemes are illegal & ebay have been threaned with legal action.
