If your monitor works with another computer - then it`s the computer that`s not beeping that`s the problem maybe?

Reseat the video card in its slot. AGP cards can creep slightly and the fine connectors can cause problems like this. Make sure you push it home firmly.
RE: PC PROBLEM - MONITER WON`T COME ON
the motherboard i have got has a standard vga card built in to the motherboard, could it be the vga o the motherboard has a fault and that i need a new graphics card to fit in the agp slot????
or
looking at the replys i think theres a problem with the onboard graphics cards, by buying a agp card this could help fix the problem,
a new 4x agp card would cost around £15,
and a new motherboard socket a k7 (pc chips) costs around £20,
is is better to buy a new motherboard rather then getting a agp card?
i currently have got a pc chips motherboard and a amd athlon 1800 xp processer

By the sound of it the last time you had the monitor on you may have had the settings on it too high a resolution ,(i did this myself in the past and had same problem)
What you need to do is turn the pc off make sure to discharge the static in yaself then find (on the motherboard) pins 1,2,3 and the two that has the jumper on you need to take it off them and short it across the remainder one eg if the jumper is on pin 1 and 2 take it off them and put it on pin 2 and 3 for about 20 seconds. then replace it on to pin 1 and 2.
this will reset the cmos and hopefully get your graphics to work again, if that fails then you could try and take the cmos battery out of its holder and reset it that way
