Nokia 1100 - Unlock code required
Guys (& gals)
Just bought a new mobile phone for my Grandmother...one of the PAYG Nokia 1100 on the Virgin network (£20 would you believe!).
Anyway, I want to put her O2 SIM into the phone, but obviously need to unlock the phone first.
However, I`ve tried two codes (7th & 5th) using the DCT4 Calculator (v1.4) and it failed both times. (For info no SIM was in the phone when trying it).
Anyone got some advice on it?
Cheers
Miles

RE: Nokia 1100 - Unlock code required
The crux unlocker I use has 2 options for the Nokia 1100
1100a (RH-18 RH-38)
or
1100b (RH-36)
I don`t know what the difference between the 2 is. I can email the unlocker to you if you want?

go to www.trycktill.com and follow the instructions. Never had a problem yet and have unlocked about 15-20 handsets this way
edit: meant to say that you need to click on the litlle union jack as the site is actaully scandinavian.

RE: Nokia 1100 - Unlock code required
Wedge - thanks for the site
Gordy - I`d appreciate the crux unlocker - PM me with it if that`s OK?
Edit- don`t worry Gordy, I downloaded it already (Thanks anyway!)
I`ve now tried to unlock it 5 times, so I think that`s game over for unlocking trials.
Ah well, Grandma will just have to use a Virgin mobile instead of the O2 one :D
Cheers guys

A bit late I know Miles but I managed to unlock a virgin nokia 1100 using the software I mentioned above.
There is an option for Virgin - SPECIAL CODE that done the trick. :)
Are you sure you had 5 goes at it? If not you may still be able to unlock yours.

Thanks Gordy, I thought I`d tried the "Virgin - SPECIAL CODE" one and still no joy.
I`ve given it to my grandmother now who seems to be chuffed with it, so alls well that ends well!
Cheers again

RE: Nokia 1100 - Unlock code required
Anyone else wanting to do this, there are some good instructions on rpoints telling you exactly what to put in all the boxes.
1. go to www.trycktill.com/eng/unlock_swe.asp
2. click the Union Flag at the bottom of the page
3. select Brand Nokia then Model 1100 then Country United Kingdom
4. for network select `Manual ¦ Enter Manual`
5. enter your IMEI (its printed on the phone where the battery goes or type *#06# on your nokia phone)
6. network is 23400001
7. Boxserial is 33552 ¦ Griffin Clip (v3)
8. check the tickbox and press Generate Code
9. enter the #pw+*********+7# code (so the last one in the list)
10. if that fails try the +1 code (the first one) but the +7 code always works first time for me.

RE: Nokia 1100 - Unlock code required
Would it be possible for you to help me unlock my Nokia 1100, to enable my mobile to accept any network sim card.
My IMEI : 355398001177780
Network: Virgn (PAYG)
Country: England
Model: Nokia 1100
If you are able to send me an unlock code, what do I do with It (ie..where should it be entered).
I also noticed that yuo referred to a special code for unlocking virgin mobiles. I am concerned that you only get 5 attempts.
My email is sttonynot[at]moc.liamtoh
I would be most grateful
Best Regards
Tony

I unlocked mine by following the instructions above. It is very simple to do if you put the settings above into the site given. Ps, some people say it`s not a good idea to publically post your IMEI, don`t know if this is so.

Try 7 first, then 1 if that doesn`t work. I can`t guarantee these work, but this is what I got from the site I posted above.

RE: Nokia 1100 - Unlock code required
I have followed this procedure, but got ` code error` message` on tow occasions. I used the seventha and then the first, but failed. I am concerned that I am using my limited attempts. Any advice?
