Page 1 of Stop messenger signing me in

So, when I turn my PC on, no matter what, its signs me into messenger. Even when I sign on using a different email account, it still says im online with my other email and tells me that I just signed in! I have adjusted the options to tell it not to run messenger when i log onto windows, but it does not save it. What can I do?

You need to remove it from the your passport in the User Accounts

Don`t you just go to the options menu and choose preferences the Run this program when windows starts - works for me!

still opens messenger up if you open outlook express though as they have built it into that in some fiendish way

I had this problem. The way i solved it was when i got to work, i changed my password, then, when it tries to log you on at home, it has the wrong saved password and therefore cant log you on automatically ! Means you have to have a different password, but that aint the end of the world, especially for messenger. Hope this helps.

Yeah the "don`t run this program when windows starts" worked for me aswell :D

These days, Messenger is acting really strange.
I normally switch to "Appear Offline" after signing in, and all appears fine. However, the screensaver comes on after a while of not using the PC. When I resume work, I find that Messenger has switched back to Online mode.
Any ideas?

you will need to go into your control pannel, select user accounts and remove your msn account or all accounts to stp msg auto sign in
