Recovery CDs

mildman2 (Elite) posted this on Friday, 28th October 2005, 08:47

Hello,

I have got a new computer and have given my son my old one.

I have the recovery CDs to return the old PC to it`s factory settings, but I am unsure of a few things. What will happen to the drivers for the graphics card (original one that came with pc) and sound card(onboard sound), as I didn`t have a drivers cd when I had the pc from new.
The PC is as standard, I haven`t installed any hardware etc...

I wonder if anyone has done this type of thing before and whether there are other risks I should be aware of?

Hope someone can help,

Neil.

No probs, but what you could also do is download all the latest drivers to a cd, that way if you ever need to do a complete restore you have all the drivers handy :)

...it did as you suggested in your first post..all drivers present and correct!
thanks again,

Neil.
