Just wondered its been down for 2 days now, anyone know whats happening?

you can only download as fast as people are uploading unless several people (with good connections) are uploading at once. I have the exact same problem it all depends on who is seeding the file, i`ve hit 190kb/s using bittorrent and have had 1kb/s.

If you just leave it chugging away in the background you find that eventually the speed does increase especially at night when people just leave the pc to seed.

I also wouldn`t watch thirdspace until you have seen seasons 1-4 as it may reveal too much too early, but depends on how involved you get with the series. But imo its definately one of the better sci-fi series out there.

To be honest I dont see the 360 as that big a step up from the original xbox as I thought, seems to me same old stuff just a different coat of paint.

Might reconsider after developers have had a year to get to grips and price has come down, but my moneys most likely going on the PS3

best be sure to make sure your windows firewall is active before you connect, as the msblaster virus is still about and see`s a fresh XP as an easy target. At least with the firewall it gives you a chance to download all the security patches etc.

Superman 2 Special Edition DVD!!!! NEWS!!!!!

Superman Homepage reports that, according to DreamWatch magazine, Richard Donner has been hired to work on a Special Edition DVD of Superman II. Donner was removed from the film after having already directed most scenes.


excuse the excitement, at long last!!! Have seen some of the scenes that were cut from Superman 2 and look forward to seeing the recut edition :D

No probs, but what you could also do is download all the latest drivers to a cd, that way if you ever need to do a complete restore you have all the drivers handy :)

the drivers etc should be loaded automatically off the recovery cd, thats what mines does at any rate :)

Was pleasantly suprised when it arrived a week later, must say pic quality was superb!!
although not sure if i would buy any more as have all thats out on dvd. If the price was more reasonable like £8-10 I would consider buying a few for long journeys.

Thats a very snobbish attitude by HMV they must see dvds as something that rich people can afford and poor people should stick to vhs!

Total cobblers "DVDs should be aspirational" whats that about, is it my life goal now to save up (and at HMV`s prices) and buy a DVD.

When hmv start putting their prices down a bit and compete with internet sales they may find their business increase!

Face it we all like cheap dvd`s off the net, but if i could save myself several days delivery time and buy from the shop at the same price I certainly would.

I hope so, i managed to track down some of the deleted scenes and definately looked a better version, esp at the fortress some more dialogue with lois and at the end of the movie superman destroys the fortress with his heat vision!. And the balcony scene near the end of the movie when superman drops off lois there is more dialogue. Very cool

USB2 will be compatable with a std usb port although you wont get the higher data speed as you would have got by using an usb2 port so if speed not a major issue then no probs using it.

Although you could pick up a pci usb2 card quite cheap and give yourself some usb2 ports.

thing to remember is you only download as fast as the person uploading it, so if someone on dialup is uploading a file at say 5kb/s then you could only download at that speed and vice versa someone with a faster upload speed means a faster download speed for you. If it happens with every single download then maybe some settings need to be adjusted but i`m sure someone more knowledgeable with that can help

I wouldn`t be suprised if mods are available for the 360 within 6 months of launch or even sooner, microsoft is always over confident over their security (windows xp anyone!)

All they have done is issued a challenge to the hacking community, and wont be long before they are condemming the mods available for the 360.

If microsoft are smart (yeah right!) it should be something pretty cool not only to wow existing owners but to make anyone considering a ps3 etc to take notice.

A few more ideas could be for instance perhaps the 360 is more powerful than let on, and the update unlocks extra processing power etc making the specs more than ps3.

or downloads windows vista and turns the 360 into a fully fledged pc :B

Whats this Secret Function for the Xbox 360 - any suggestions?

Apparently the xbox360 has a secret function that will be unlocked thru a live update a year after it has launched, just curious what peoples suggestions for what it could be!

I think microsoft could be very crafty and enable PVR functionality , i know the 20gb HD is not a lot but be enough for a novelty idea and of course it would probably tie in with the announcement of a larger HDD.

Or (and i know i`m reaching here) microsoft have very kindly installed HD-DVD or blu-ray drives in all the 360`s and the download enables all the playback functionality for hi-def movies and games!!

Have you tried plugging pc into a different wall socket? Maybe the socket is at fault.
But my guess would probably be the power supply in the pc.

From what i`ve heard the premium package is in short supply, but not suprisingly the core system is stocks aplenty, seems microsoft have shot themselves in the foot already as no one wants the core system :)

I cant believe from reading a lot of forums on the net how much people are freaking out at the Core system not having a hard drive and how they will save their games!. People seem to be forgetting thats been standard on consoles for ages, you dont see people freaking about the PS2 and the fact you need a memory card.

Its just another way for the company to squeeze out a few more quid from us mugs, surely a memory card should be included as std in any system, but nowing sony etc, they would just bump the cost of the console up to cover it.

Sounds like the Hard drive, I had that happen to me. My advice if its working OK at the moment, back all your stuff up sounds like the hard drive is at deaths door :)
