Hard drive help

Ive just fitted a bigger 2nd hard drive to my pc and was wanting to transfer all my data, windows ect to the new drive as the origional drive is small and slow. can anyone please help with an explination on how to do this.

So are you trying to run the 2ND drive as your primary drive, ie: run the operating system from the 2ND drive?

You will need to clone your drive using software like Ghost or Acronis True Image.

The latter is functional if you install it as a demo & should make a exact copy of your HDD.

On completion, remove the original & set the clone as primary drive & voila.



I quite like the Helpdesk people in a benevolent (as opposed to malevolent) way as they do some valuable work in preventing us being inundated by every halfwit who can work a phone.

to make life easier id keep the same small hard drive as your primary, and just transfer all the non system files to the second hard drive (new one). Ie; Music, Movies, Work, Games, Downloads. Etc... This way your storing and downloading all your data on the new one and your getting to use the old one too..

OK so i posted on the wrong forum by mistake.
for your information i had a computer problem i couldnt solve so dont make a song and dance about it.and as for asking the same question before ,i was fitting a 2nd drive then i now wanted to know how i transfered from one drive to another this time.
