wi fi laptop.Keeps turning off internet after about 15 minutes. We have 3 laptops running on wi fi but one has developed a fault, as per headline it turns off the internet after 15 minutes. All the settings seem OK, any idea`s.Maybe the wi fi card needs a driver update, if so how is it done. Thanks for any help.

First thing to try:

Go to Device manager & check power management settings & untick Allow computer to shut down this device to save power.


I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.

Thanks for the help Rassilon. I`ve not had time to do it yet. The laptop concerned is in Turkish & we havn`t had time to do it together yet, hence not replying earlier. Fingers crossed it will be ok when we do.
