My current 12 month Orange Mobile phone Talk 120 contract is up 7-April
(Cashback from Mobileshop after 12 month bill)
However my Nokia 3120 phone is now inoperable after a stint in the washing machine.
If I go for another one of these cheap reantal cashback jobs -
Can I port the number across with the phone `out of action`?
We also have lost a PAYG (Orange) Nokia phone which has £15 quid credit on it -
Can I port this number across to another PAYG network?
I expect to win the lottery next week btw.
Cheers
Lucky Ron.
How long ago did you `wash` it? You tried taking it to pieces and leaving it in the airingcupboard to dry out for a few days?

Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn...
And those who dance will spin and turn,
And those who wait will wait no more,
And those who talk will hear the words,
And those who see will fade and die,
And those who laugh will surely fall,
And those who know will always feel their backs against the thin wall...
RE: `Washed Up` Mobile Phone
Not sure, My wife did it, perhaps an hour or two, anyway,
Thanks for the reply, will give it a go,
Would still like to know if you can port numbers under both the circumstances outlined above.
Cheers.
Can definitely port your contract number across no problem. All you need is your PAC code which you then pass on to whoever you get your new contract from. Phone Orange on 150 using a different mobile with your washed sim if it still works. Alternatively phone 07973 100 150 from a landline.
You will get a new number and sim card with your new deal initially but after a few days your old number will be transferred to your new sim.
Not sure about the PAYG, Orange will advise you.
Hope this helps.

RE: `Washed Up` Mobile Phone
Thanks very much, will give it a go.

If you`ve lost the old PAYG phone, call orange PAYG CS on 450, report it lost, then get yourslef a new Orange PAYG sim, (or Orange PAYG phone with Orange sim), then call them up, and say you`d like to do a PAYG `upgrade`. They will then port the old number and remaining credit to the new sim. Easy peasy. Did this god knows how many times during my time at CPW. Orange make it very easy too - no silly questions, they just get on with it. You can be up and running in no time :)
Hope that helps
Cheers
