Rescue pro will restore deleted files from a memory card, its not free as such but if you order a Sandisk Ultra 3 card it comes with it. A 1gb SD card cost £12.99 from mymemory. Hope this helps

I had to do this not too long ago and found a couple of programs that really did work and that were free.
One was Digital Image Recovery 1.47 but I can`t be sure of the other.
I have since uninstalled these as I got a copy of RescueMe Pro with a Sandisk SD card, although I do have a copy of the .zip for Digital Image Recovery 1.47 if you need it.
You could also try PC Inspector Smart Recovery 4.5 from www.pcinspector.de
One tip if the card can`t be read; I had to recover deleted photos from a card which could not be read by any of the photo machines in Jessops, Asda etc or via the card reader of my PC, so I put the card into the camera and connected to the PC via the usb and then ran the recovery software, problem solved and family photos from Florida recovered.

Pop over to Snapfiles, there are several free tools here to do the job, providing you haven`t formatted the card.

Photos recovery HELP - using RescuePro

niteowl (Elite) posted this on Sunday, 13th July 2008, 21:02

A friend`s kid deleted their holiday snaps by accident from xd memory card.

Fortunately I have a copy of rescuepro vs 3.2 (came with sandisk Extreme III memory card when purchased a few months back).

Unfortunately I can`t get it to run on my vista pc. It seems to have installed, but nothing happens when you try to open rescuepro (even with administrater rights). :/

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.
