Try CDBurnerXP. Its a bit basic,& I`ve not used it for ages, but its free, worth a look. There is a short review at ComputerActive
Ashampoo Burning Studio 6.75 is also free, but you need to get a key from Ashampoo, & once you give them an e-mail address, they keep sending you nag e-mails to upgrade.
As for Wave Editor, have you tried Audacity? I`m using the beta 1.3.7. & really like it.

Another vote for that, it`s been updated recently & it`s a bit more helpful on the startup options, it can be a little "clunky" in operation, but it does what I need it to, without installing tons of bloat.
I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.
Heartily glad that I don`t have to learn how to spell Chiwetel Ejiofor.
i`m curious about the glitches in nero, i often recomend nero for one single reason, it does everything i want & never gives me any hassle (ver 7. xxx not sure the exact one) what advantages do the other progs have over nero ?
bear in mind, that i really only use nero for making data cd`s, the odd audio cd & for converting mp4/avi`s into standard dvd`s. it never gives me any hassle, with the only occasional problem where audio goes out of synch, after conversion to dvd, but on those files roxio & the like also have trouble, but tbh, these problems are rare, maybe one disc in 20
