All,

A few people on here must have an Driod phone can`t all be ifunkers. So I wanted a thread to share any apps free or paid for that might be worth looking into.

I have just got the Desire and so far have d/l

Layar - the augmented reality thing, so far pretty good although not used it outside just from the office chair has a find a pub layar which is cool.

BeebPlayer - to stream iplayer, not tried it yet will report how good it is

Google Googles - thats pretty cool, take a photo and use it to search the world

London Underground - Useful shows up to date tube status and has a map if you don`t know london that well.

WSOP - Cost $2.99 seems like a decent poker game so far only played one game not much lag and simple to use.

I`ve got the Hero and theres a couple of great free apps

Where`s my droid - Ever forgotten where you put your phone and cant ring it coz it`s on silent? This lets you txt a password of your choosing to the phone which switches it to normal mode and makes it ring out till you find it. Surprisingly handy i`ve found:D.

Ringdroid - Allows you to create ringtones and message alerts from your mp3s on the phone

imusic and or musiczilla - allow to search and dwonload songs direct to the phone, it`s all free so i`m guessing they won`t be around long:D

Forgot to mention Google Sky above, its pretty useless but cool none the less:D

The single best app ever found.
A daily Calvin and Hobbes strip delivered straight to my phone.

If anyones found a solution to no flash player on a G1 I`ll be your friend for life.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

i really like it... it`s a nice sleek classy phone. the touch screen is great, as is the camera which takes
photo`s in a slightly wider format (5:3) than my N95.

i`ve only downloaded a few apps so far (all freebies), but will probably consider paying for Co Pilot 8
when i get paid next month. incidently, the GPS lock on is ****ing fast!! even indoors.

Dunno about v8 but I originally bought my first GPS Mitac with CP 4.
TomTom at the time was a bit behind in street level accuracy and that led to me to the CoPilot, which was exceptionally up to date with Glasgow street mapping at the time.

I lasted about 2 months. I had paid £99 for it at the time and switched to TomTom at the first chance I got (v5 TT iirc)
Maps on the CP set to 3D looked like someone had taken a paper map and held it at an angle.
Turn indications were painfully slow and on many occasions I was a good 100 yards beyond the turning before it indicated it on screen (remembering I was in unfamiliar areas at the time)
Never had the issue with TomTom.

To each their own, but if it has the trial of CoPilot on it I`d give that a go first, my old XDA Zest had the CP trial on it (think it`s 6 or 7 though) and even just looking at it it reminded me of those almost-2D maps.
