Inside my laptop...

So the laptop has been running hot these last few months and I was bored today so I've took the back off the laptop!

No idea what I'm doing but once the back is off how do you "clean" the fan?

I was expecting to take it off the motherboard but after are the screws are out it's not budging!

Do I just hover it while it's still on the MB?!

I always use an air duster to blast PC fans, heat sinks and PS3 vents.

I'd be uncertain of the effect that vacuum nozzles may have on electronic innards if they've worked up a static charge..

Google a teardown video for your particular machine.

I usually unplug the fan, in case of back EMF from the fan generated by the blades turning under the air or stop the blades turning.

Also try getting the fan cover off & checking the heatsink grill is clear at both ends.

Fresh heatsink compound on the chip wouldn't go amiss either.

My outlook on life is positive & carefree, I'm positive that I'm a pessimist & I don't care what what you think.

Never has so little had to be explained by me to so many so often.

Through chance I did this!

I think it's made a difference although I haven't left it on long enough to really tell...
