Why won't screensavers work....?

Hiya guys...updated to win 7 ultimate and hardly any of my screensavers will work...they appear to install ...work on preview...but do not kick in ...just get ...NONE...on personalisation page...any thoughts....?...thanks...Moods

When I did use a desktop PC (which since windows 8 is now never) I just used to switch off the monitor with the front power button, so never needed a screen saver.
