Yep, Google want to track you everywhere you go, same as Facebook and Twitter. Time to wrap your Android phone in tin foil?

Some governments are quite quiet in their criticism of this mass collection of personal data, which makes me think either they are doing the same (well we know they are!) or hoping they can acquire it from these companies later.

Mark my words, when Google perfect their AI, the robot revolution will come quickly and our new overlords will know everything about all of us!

I'm going to start building my emergency Mars escape rocket right now.

I've already started playing with an Arduino, it should be able to handle the launch control automatically when the time comes.

I just need to build a rocket, compressing air inside a 1 litre plastic cola works really well, so I'm just going to scale it up to 100 bottles!

I think if we ever get close to genuine AI it's going to be an interesting discussion. It's kind of like nuclear energy, where the side effects could be huge in who you allow to develop it.

I would say 95% of coders just pull libraries off the shelf, kind of like Martin Brundle in The Fly (the remake). There are open source third party libraries that do pretty much everything any commercial one does, so the moment someone cracks true AI others are going to as well, and we'll be in the same situation for this kind of technology.

At that point, you could well have anyone who is tech savvy being able to make an AI being, which could in theory be created for evil purposes, or like all the Internet of Things devices which have been abused on Friday to take out DNS for major websites, unintentionally have flaws which can be abused.

We aren't doing very well with making secure technology, look at cars being hacked. I can't see this ever improving either, it's a direct result of our capitalist society. You don't make something secure or provide support for it the moment it isn't financially worth it to you.
