No idea comparatively but if that's the price of film now I'm bloody glad I went digital.

£45.00 for 5 rolls of 120 !!
Nearly £22.00 for a single roll of 35mm Ektachrome !!

Excuse me while I just check my lottery numbers.

No, gave up when I ran out of Polaroid instant photo development, they were great, no need to take it into Boots for processing and waiting a week, but it finished up. Then we got digital, fantastic, instant and no processing, even better than Polaroid.

You can tell I liked instant photos well before the digital age.

Thank God I don't use it anymore. Still got a Canon film SLR and some 5"x4" large format cameras - dread to think what film (not to mention processing) would cost for those.

This'll be like electric cars in 15 yrs time: "found a place where you can still buy diesel for your classic car, £30 a litre"

I must admit to being much more nostalgic for Sinar than my old Nikons (still got one F2 I don't want to part with).
Stick me in a Dark Room with a stack of slides and a couple of boxes and I'll load them before the kettle's boiled.

I always loved the idea of film, but could never afford to develop my own, and the whole process made learning photography properly prohibitively expensive for me.

I do sometimes miss holding my Pentax ME Super though. 😍

The Pentax did feel comfortable in the hand.

Always fancied owning a Leica maybe an M3 or 4 just never got round to it, or got round to having sufficient funds.

I loved large format. Stunning quality, amazing levels of control, a slow and thoughtful process. And yes, I liked loading darkslides too.

It's sad that this is gone. I became quite a skilful developer/printer (I suppose a lot of photographers were in the olden days) but this is about as useful now as being an expert ferret polisher.

Ferret polishers are like COBOL programmers, hardly anybody wants them but those that do have deep trousers.
