Good experiences of Techtronics?
I am looking to buy the LG 3350E pretty soon from them with the VCR mod chip for macrovision out disabled.
I read the avoid post earlier but I would like to hear some praise for them aswell.
Thanks
RE: Good experiences of Techtronics?
I purchased a Pioneer 530 from Techtronics last November, ordered on a Saturday, arrived the following friday. Great player, good service, no complaints as far as i`m concerned.
RE: Good experiences of Techtronics?
Wait until something does go wrong!!!!!!
RE: Good experiences of Techtronics?
Avoid Techtronics at all costs. Suggest you try a company called Link Electronics. Address is www.linkonline.co.uk
Excellent service and they are cheaper.
RE: Good experiences of Techtronics?
If the company is reputable, why does it have to charge a restocking fee on returned goods, knowing full well there is a chance it might not work? How many other mail order companies do you know that do it?
I can understand the carriage charge, but when they get it back, they`ll probably test it and then sell it on to someone else as new.
Buy your DVD player from somewhere that values your custom, not a place like Techtronics who only appear to be interested in making a fat profit, possibly at your expense.

Link Electronics, who loaned me a unit to prove my Amp was not faulty, "apparently" give you a "no quibble" 14 day money back offer - got to be worth checking out. As I said before,, they tend to be lower priced and considerable better service and atitude. If I ever get my money back, I`ll be buying a machine from them.
RE: Good experiences of Techtronics?
Ok first off thanks for the posts guys but its pretty obvious that you didn`t read the Heading!!
I would really appreciate that somebody gives me help on what I asked than to repeat what was posted in the Avoid post earlier. I have read this post and don`t really want to read these comments again.
Brian I would also like to point out that Link Electronics don`t actually sell the LG 3350e on their site (or at least its not listed on the web site) so it wasn`t any help to me.
Don`t take this the wrong way but I think that a lot of the replies on these forums do go off topic and that does spoil them.
** Note **
I am no longer looking at getting the LG3350E from Techtronics any longer and instead considering getting the player seperately from Dabs or elsewhere and fitting an external demacro box. Please can any further comments on this be posted to:

RE: Good experiences of Techtronics?
In regard to retailers that charge a restocking fee... I think that you will find most retailers will charge some fee for returning items that they regard as fully working. I can include SCAN and DABS do this and others will also do the same if they don`t experience the same problems that you might have at home.
On the other hand there are some companies that don`t charge the restocking fee and will provide you with a specific period with a "no questions/quibble" policy but I think you will find that this is often explotied and is still liable to specific conditions apon return.
RE: Good experiences of Techtronics?
At the expense of sounding rude (I don`t mean to!) but:
Why the hell do you want good experience of a company with so much bad ones? Yes I`m sure if you look hard enough you might find the lucky few who have ordered something without incident, but are you just so desperate to order from them that you`d like some piece of mind no matter how small?

You sound like you`re the only one people can reply to! There are other people on this board ya know - just coz you start a thread doesn`t mean you own it!
Fair enough threads should keep on topic but come on I can`t see how this one has gone off topic (until now! ;-). I mean the posts may not ALL be a direct reply to your original questions but at least they are about Techtronics.
Don`t take this the wrong way - instead just think of me as the bringer of truth ;-)

RE: Good experiences of Techtronics?
Sorry to be difficult but...
I`ve had nothing but good experience with Techtronics and neither have the 3 other people that I recommended use them.
Originally purchased my Panasonic 350 from Comet and had Techtronics modify it last year. It was collected and returned within a few days and I found their service to be excellent. When the laser failed 3 weeks before the guarantee ran out (a common fault, I now know!) Techtronics were superb.
Even though it had nothing to do with the modification they carried out they collected the player and removed the chip so that the player could be repaired under guarantee by Comet. When the player was fixed, Techtronics collected it again and replaced the chip. Both the removal and replacement took less that 5 days. I was only charged for delivery.
I have nothing but praise for them.
