how are amazon for electrical goods?

cirdan (Elite) posted this on Friday, 7th November 2003, 21:42

i am looking to get a personal mini disk player. i tend to go to shops to get things like t.v`s or dvd players, i like to know i can just go back with them if need be. but the cheapest one that was also quite good was around £99. so i had a look on amazon and found a sony one for £78, ok its not that new but it looks ok for what i am looking for.

i have ordered off them before, books and dvd`s, and when i had a problem with a book it was replaced with no problems. but i just want a bit of info about how they are with electrical goods, i know its not that expensive but i would like to no there is some support if anything went wrong.

cheers.

Bought a Digital camera of them worth over £350 and had no problems whatsoever.
Whether it be a book or an electrical item, Amazon are very good at providing goods and with customer queries/returns. Buy with confiedence.

I`ve bought electrical kit from Amazon (a PDA and a printer, for example), and it was all fine. I wouldn`t worry about using them!

Bought DVD players a scanner and an XBox from them without any problems at all. Although others are beginning to catch them and in a few cases beat them on price there are very few that beat them on customer service. In this dept. they are simply top notch so I say buy with confidence mate! :D

Bought the Siemens 02 phone for under £30 on Wed - free delivery - on my doorstep Saturday morning. Fantastic. Tempted by the all in printer/scanner offer with free Terminator 3.

as i said in my original post, i usually go to the high street for electrical goods, but for something like a mini disk player i thought about online, especially as the price difference is around £20. and from what you all say the service is good and delivery pretty quick too, i thought id better get it know rather than wait a few more weeks.

cheers.
