Has anyone used Sound & Vision? are they reliable??

GyneBob (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 21st September 2004, 12:51

Thinking of using Sound & Vision for a major purchase but never used them before, they have by far the best price online, but is there a catch??
Any views would be welcome :)

Check that they are autherised dealers by calling the manufacturers. That goes for all dealers mind.

All the best,

The 42%er.

It`s not easy being different. It`s not easy being cool....but somehow I manage....

sound and vision in bolton?

cos there are many sound and visions.

if bolton, then i used them for my first tv (36" panny) and dvd player. good service, delivery was with two guys so you didnt have to help out at all. and delivered the next day, even tho it was pretty late (i.e. will deliver regardless). did it on credit, and also got a 5yr extended warranty included within the credit. all in all, no complaints. and yeah i found they had a pretty good price for what i was looking for at the time. not sure any more tho.

i have used other places since, and generally been ok with them. prcdirect are pretty good. i think what i did when i upgraded everything was get a what sound and vision magazine or something and call different places. most places ask what price you have so far and then either match or beat it.

just a thought. hope it helped.

I used them in April 2002. I spotted their ad in WHAT TV (or some similar magazine). They are only 25 miles from where I live so I was able to drive across. They have a smallish shop and demonstration area in Farnworth (just outside Bolton).

They were very helpful with advice and I bought a Panasonic 28" flatscreen and a Toshiba video. TOTAL was £699 (two and a half years ago that was a good price !!). I returned the next day and thay loaded the items into the back of my car, as delivery would have cost extra.

A month later I had to return the video as the controls were going crazy. Playing when I pressed eject, Rewinding when I pressed fast-forward, etc !! No problem - they gave me an upgrade for an extra £15.

No trouble since then but I haven`t been back.

Don`t spend too long in the `town` of Farnworth, though. Flat caps, ferrets and greasy spoon cafes and it rains a lot !!

Bought my last TV through them - ordered on the phone and received delivery a couple of days later. No worries. ;)

(before you ask, i live in kearsley, just outside "farny")
