I purchased a proline 2000 about six months ago. I was wondering, what chance i have of receiving a refund, because the player has been bugged with problems since i had it. Has anyone returned their player to Comet?
You`re still within the manufacturer`s warranty period so you`re quite within your rights to return it and ask for it to be fixed or replaced.
Don`t expect an easy ride though - it may be a good idea to ring the shop you bought it from first, rather than just turning up at the door.
Hope you kept the receipt ;-)

Unfortunately, they are very reluctant to refund! they like to enforce there 28 days return policy. After that its a repair normally.
I bought a Goodmans DVD3000 from, I exchanged it twice and had it repaired once, the repair took over 2 weeks so they had to give another one.(Number 3). It then went wrong again and so I demanded a refund. I was not going to go for number 4.
I think I was lucky as I dealt with the same person each time and they could not dispute the problems that I`d had, they were also sympothetic! I had my product for around 4 months.
My advice would be to enter the store on a Saturday (Busy). Then try and grab the manager then calmly explain that this cannot continue and ask about the possibility of a refund under the circumstances. If that doesn`t work then start talking very loud, and if that doesn`t work SHOUT!
At the end of the day they will have to repair it, whatever and if it takes longer than 2 weeks they will have to give you a brand new one.
GOOD LUCK!
