just increased the price of the `Akira` tin from £30 to £35? This smacks of price fixing...

They regularly do this. Its supply & demand as their stock of limited editions runs down they increase the price. Akira started at £25 then £30 and now £35. I know from feedback it is because they reward loyal / existing customers who preorder and not those who shop around because their supplier failed to deliver. This also happened with the Wicker Man LE
