Calling all retailers - if it rattles don`t send it out

Having received another DVD delivery where at least one box makes a rattling noise and the dvd inside has a number of scuff and scratch marks (hopefully its still playable) on it I`m getting somewhat miffed with dealers who mail them out in this state . Likewise the use of cases that either a. don`t hold dvds very well or b. are shoddily packed by the packers at the manufacturers.
On the other hand the chinese dvds come in boxes where the part holding the dvd slots into a matching part on the front section of the case so the dvd cannot come loose. Okay so its difficult to put a booklet in but i can live without a extra redundant chapter listing and cover photo and list of unwatchable dvds marketed by the same publisher if it stops dvds being damaged.
So guys, if it rattles don`t mail it , if it does then check it and then make sure its properly mounted at the least.

it is annoying, they could do what devoted do and place the disc inside a sleeve, to save the disc getting scuffed or damaged.

At a guess the disc is not ratteling when it is sent out but comes losse in transet. Maybe the manufacturers could use a better box.

All the best,

Andrew.

got an order from http://www.ezydvd.com.au/ & found they had opened all the discs & put in a bit of polystyrene to stop the disc moving about. As it worked, why can`t every site do this? I would rather get a disc opened & intact than sealed up & scratched

Ahh, another fan of Woolies! I too have paid for discs in Woolworths, took them home then found them scratched. That`s why I don`t buy from their shops anymore. The website seems okay, but then I`ve only bought from the site once- maybe I was lucky.
W H Smiths used to take out discs, & store them in card sleeves- don`t know if they still do it, as I`ve not been in there in ages
