Warning if you shop mail order, and who doesn’t?
Warning!
Britain’s worst courier, Hermes has changed its name to Evri.
New name, same damage, same parcels in the bin.

Thanks, although the prestigious title of worst courier goes to Yodel for me.

yeh, Yodel are shocking, although the other day, i went to put some recycling in the recycling wheelie bin, and saw a big amazon box in there, which had been left there the previous night! obviously they put "handed to resident" :(
normally they knock, put it outside front door, and walk back to van and by the time you open the door, knock over the box they've driven off.
does anyone know why they knock, and don't ring the doorbell?

RE: Warning if you shop mail order, and who doesn’t?
Hermes used to be wonderful for me, they always delivered on the day they were scheduled to, really amazed when I'd hear about other people's problems with them (even in Ventnor)... until... last year when it all went bad.
Now it's miracle if they deliver on the day they said they would, more often than not they claim to have delivered but I wasn't in, and then it can be days before they retry (yeah I was in, they didn't even try!). One time last year they had my parcel for 3 weeks just in their depot because someone was ill or on holiday or I don't know what.

RE: Warning if you shop mail order, and who doesn’t?
Hermes were scheduled to pick up a return of my son's the week before last and I was working from home that day. It was a chromebook that he wanted to use for internet browsing that kept dropping wifi connection for no apparent reason, but I digress...
Anyway, he got an email to say that they'd tried to pick it up but were unsuccessful. He mentioned that I was in and I'd heard nothing, but they insisted.
Then he mentioned we also had a Ring doorbell (bought the week before) and there was no video recorded of the visit and they suddenly changed their mind and arranged a visit the following day...

I have long suspected they mark you as not in, because then it's not their fault and Amazon (as it's usually Amazon who swap between couriers based on algorithms) won't penalise them for it.

We used to have that problem all the time with the Post Office/Royal Mail though not for a while.
We're lucky in that there's usually someone in plus we have a porch which is open so all the regular guys, we get a sh*t load of stuff delivered, are used to just leaving it. Usually after ringing the Ring.
I've not continued the subscription so it's only useful for live.

Should be EVRI cloud has a silver lining, until of course you realise is still Hermes!
