Trevor Francis ,Phil Thompson and Mick Channon called into the England squad!!
No not really, but Emile (i never thought he would play for England again) Heskey and Joleon Lescott have been, McClaren said about Lescott "He is big and strong and is a threat at set-pieces as well, but as a defender he makes life very difficult for strikers" , and about Heskey "Emile is a player with a lot of international experience and has played many times with Michael Owen in the past", SO WHY WERE THEY NOT NAMED IN THE ORIGINAL SQUAD !!!.............ok rant over (i think Lescott is a pretty good player by the way).

As an Everton fan it has baffled me why Lescott wasn`t called up last season as he has been phenomenal in our defence since he joined. On the other hand, I`ve been really apathetic about England for the last few years (since both Barmby and then Rooney had their heads turned after being called up actually...).

Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn...
And those who dance will spin and turn,
And those who wait will wait no more,
And those who talk will hear the words,
And those who see will fade and die,
And those who laugh will surely fall,
And those who know will always feel their backs against the thin wall...

So you would rather not take any players in the squad instead?
Lescott`s probably been unfortunate in that last season we have had a number of top quality centre backs available last season, and due to injury he played out of position a lot which probably meant he didn`t perform to his full potential (Although he was still quality).
The only people after Heskey is:
Bobby Zamora, James Beattie, Leroy Lita, Kevin Davies, Kevin Phillips, James Mills (my personal choice ;) )
