I heard the same which means he stood up for a principle I approve of so it's even hard to gloat about that.

[VIDEO] RE: Breakaway super league...
This has just been going around in my head
RE: [VIDEO] Breakaway super league...
I think the thing I wonder most about this is, did they realise the backlash that would happen after they announced it? And have a plan to deal with that? Or has this come as a complete surprise that it's been so big?

I'd take the below with a pinch of salt, but this was repeated endlessly yesterday...

what I found funny, was on the radio, one of the reasons for the break away, is because younger fans are losing interest due to the boring matches, and would rather just watch top tier teams playing.
Which is funny, as my next door neighbour has the football channels, and watches all the matches he can, but if say BT has Champions League Real Vs Bayern or whatever, but Sky has div 2 football, he'll generally watch the lower down English league as he finds it more interesting with players more likely to give their all!
I don't quite understand why Boris is getting involved, saying they'll pass a bill to stop this? surely just because a few ppl get upset about some sport you can't just start making laws, unless it's just to get popular among "normal" ppl, surely not the case? ;) or should I put my Bandi tin foil hat on, and say first covid, now football, next well you know :(

Man City too, and two of the Spanish clubs. Well, it was fun while it lasted. Maybe Welling United and Leyton Orient can join instead.
I wonder if Jose will get his job back?

Writer`s Release
All the English clubs are now out having delivered differing statements.
Arsenal one of the longer ones offering specious reasoning, general bu**sh*t and actually an apology amounting to the 'I'll never do it again, give me another chance' from an abusive spouse.
It's important the energy that contributed to this reversal isn't dissipated as we all strut around like a Jack Russel that's just beaten a GSD. There's opportunity to press for genuine change here.
I've seen it floated that the Glazers and the Kroenkes think they've been backed into a corner and may look to sell up in summer. Probably wishful thinking but we can dream.
