Fox to buy sky

Fox takeover of sky broadcasting for 18 billion.

Hope it does not increase my monthly subscription.

Hope it's blocked.

He tried to get sky a few years back with one of his other companies.

It s just the price of sky that's crazy, i had two large increases in the last few years, so told them I was packing them in and going to Virgin, as it was the last straw when another price increase came in the door.

They then, after some negociations,  gave me a tenner off my monthly subscription to stay with them.  See how long that lasts.

That'll be the customer retention department. It's amazing how much they'll give you if you say you're leaving. They're notoriously poor at spotting a bluff as well

As soon as the tenner goes back on get back on to them.
Martin Lewis does a whole section on how to haggle with them.

What retention is allowed to offer you changes on a daily basis. I went back to them on a previous recent offer after threatening to leave and they had to refer it up two levels before they'd agree to honour the previous better offer.

If you meant you thought he already owned Sky, actually only owns 39%, although his son is the director.

Some saying price is way too low. Also very likely to happen :-(

Packed sky in last March after 8 years - the cost to watch a bit of TV is ridiculous, £25 plus quid for the basic package?  They keep sending me please come back letters and emails, the last one being 75% off but I'm sticking with my freesat box and a Now TV box. All the entertainment channels and the box sets for about £4 a month if you buy the boxes with vouchers when they are on offer. Can also get movies for a fiver a month or so as well that way.

Buying Now TV boxes with vouchers is what I did after being with Sky since it started. Got a year's worth of Sky Movies for £60 & a year's worth of entertainment channels for £40 plus 5 unused Now TV boxes to sell on ebay. The only downside is not being able to record, so I got a reconditioned freeview box from ebay.

Yes, exactly the same here and my daughter can watch on a box in her room and my mum also uses one at her house 200 miles away all on my one account :)  On offer in Argos at the moment, £20 for box and 6 months entertainment or 4 months movies (if they have stock of course) I've still got a year of entertainment and 6 months movies for little more than one months sky sub. Not even fussed about recording as it's all on catch up anyway.
