Read all the Lee Child Reacher books - this is so much a better representation of Reacher than Tom Cruise could ever hope to achieve.  Especially the count to three... one boooom!

I tried reading the first Reacher book and lasted just a few pages. I couldn't cope withe the Janet and John three word sentences.

Do they get better.
Would you suggest a different starting point.

1st episode is a boat load of fun, really really enjoyed it and will definitely binge the rest over the next day or two

I've just started the Reacher books, starting with One Shot as it's familiar ground (I'm a big fan of the movie, not so much the sequel), if for anything but to familiarise myself with the writing style. It's an easy read that only stalls when the author pauses to wax lyrical about armaments and their capabilities. May give the rest of the series a go.

Oh yes it is.
And Mr Ritchson inhabits the role in a way Tom Cruise didn't and couldn't as they don't make lifts that big or have an entire supporting cast that small.

For 0.99p on Kindle at the moment how could I not give the book a try.

Well its a long time since I enjoyed a series filled with action and gratuitous violence like that, Lead nailed the character like cruise never could and I have no idea how he can possibly play Reacher again in a movie, roll on next series
