Your Opinions and Comments
Take "Treasure Island" and upgrade it into the future. Add some amazing special effects, a great soundtrack, a cool theme song and some wacky characters and there you have it - "Treasure Planet".
The video transfer is superb. There are no compression signs and the colors are well saturated. The visuals in the movie are nothing short of stunning. The combination of hand-drawn and CG animation is seamless and the characters are all brilliantly animated.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is awesome. The surrounds are constantly used and the channel separation adds a lot to the movie`s fast-paced atmosphere. The disc comes with 3 additional soundtracks in Hebrew, Polish and Turkish, all in DD 5.1.
Thankfully, there`s only one song throughout the movie, and to top it all - a good one! Well done, Disney!!!
The menus are all animated with sound.
The extras include a commentary (both visual and audio), an extensive behind the scenes look with detailed explanations about the animation process, 3 deleted scenes, storyboards, a picture and concept gallery, a music video, an interactive game (finish it and you get to watch a multi-language version of the movie`s sole song).
Bottom line - a great and fun movie from Disney and yeah - a great disc to match it. Buy it now!
