RE: How can I get rid of interference?
If you fancy a non-surgical solution, try this (it works for me)
1) Turn your analogue tv channel to whatever your VCR is tuned to (channel 0 for me).
2) Turn off your VCR.
3) Leaving your TV channel on 0, so that the screen is black, press your AV button to change over to your RGB/scart display.
There should be no interference now.
RE: SPLASH DVD EASTER SALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don`t buy from these clowns ESPECIALLY during a sale.
I ordered 2 Disneys on 24/03/03. Chased by email twice, then was told that having been 822 on the waiting list for Lilo & Stitch last week, I was now only number 583. I emailed them back and politely stated that unless they could state the DVD`s would be on my doormat in 3-5 days, they could cancel my order. Surprise surprise, Lilo & Stitch was dispatched the next day. Still waiting for Pinnochio - they can have one more day, but boy will I go to town after that!
It worries me a lot that kywy`s order (or half of it) was dispatched almost immediately, whereas so many other people wait for weeks. It is also a bit strange that this mysterious Lilo & Stitch waiting list suddenly evaporated.
Quite frankly, they are making it up as they go along... but one positive note - they are very quick to respond to emails. I wonder if they are spending all day answering complaints instead of sending DVDs out....
RE: DVD Sites to Avoid
Whoops - just spotted this thread and I`ve already started a whinge about Jungle.com elsewhere!
Sorry if I`m getting ahead of myself, but have you done the following yet (assuming you`re in the UK)?
Firstly, if you have an address for AbsolutelyDVD, you should put your complaint in writing.
Secondly, have you been to Trading Standards? If not, print off a dossier of all your e-mails/correspondence and take it to them. They`ll be able to give advice or chase for you.
Thirdly, I think you have the right to cancel a contract if you have not received the product in a reasonable time span. You can do this by e-mail, fax or letter, but not on the phone.
If you paid by Credit Card (not debit), I believe you also have additional rights and protections - go to the Trading Standards website for more.
Sorry if you`ve already done all of this - and actually, I`ve been practising as I preach with Jungle, to no avail so far...
I`ll race you to the finishing line - will it be my refund or your DVD that arrives first...!
All the best
Paul
Jungle.com - a sorry experience
Has anybody else had trouble with Jungle lately?
I had to return a product as the box was damaged. That was more than 8 weeks ago and I still haven`t had a refund. I`ve sent them loads of e-mails, along with a fax and a complaint letter. They`ve given me about 4 contradictory excuses and are promising a refund but just never deliver.
It`s the worst experience I`ve ever had with any retailer.
Even Trading Standards haven`t been able to get a response and I am seriously wondering if the small claims court is the only way I will get my money back!
Has anybody else had a similar experience? Or has anyone got any advice?
Cheers
Paul
