Does this hack work on macrovision and region code for the U.S. model Samsung DVD-611?

To convert this player to Multi-Region playback
1. Press the Repeat button on your remote control
2. Using your remote control enter the code 3,8,7,6 and 7
3. The code 02 should be displayed on the screen indicating this is a Region 2 unit.
4. Press the 9 button on your remote control for Region free, or 1 for Region 1, 2 for Region 2 and so on.
5. Press the Open button on your player
6. Press the Standby button on your remote control

Do all of the above at the titlescreen (the Samsung logo).

It works perfect. AND....its permanent until you reset the player.
And it removes the macrovision if you press 9 (regionfree).

I found this hack on wesite.

Is there a secret menu to turn off the macrovison copyguard for the Daewoo DS-2000N dvd player? I think this is a USA model.

The Konka KD-1800U1 just came out in US and Canada . The old model was a KD-1800U. Are you able to turn off the macrovision copyguard and region code? If so please let me know. If not I know of a hack that might work.Can you also play cd-r and cd-rw?

According to the hack on the SCAN dvd player for the Daewoo dvd, you cannot turn off the macrovision copyguard. DaveNick were you able to turn off the macrovision copyguard?
The Daewoo model avaible in the US is the Daewoo DS-2000N dvd player.
Is this the same model?

The reason I asked about the U and E is that in Toronto,Ontario, Canada
all the units have an U at the end instead of a E.

It probably can play CD-RW. If you can exchangeit. Try the Samsung DVD-711. It has a dual laser pickup so that it can play CDR.
The 511 has only one laser inside the unit.
