RE: Smallest Widescreen TV

Thx for the replies.

Got a 28" at the moment in the bedroom and it`s far too big. Will a 24" be much better? Obviously it`s 4inches not as wide. is there much difference in how deep they are, as that`s half the problem of the 28, it`s so deep.

Smallest Widescreen TV

Hi

Need a widescreen TV for a bedroom, so just wondering at what size they start at. Is it 24" or can you get a slightly smaller one? Bit smaller would be better. Also whats the cheapest place to get one. Am I better off buying online than say Dixons?

I believe Sony once did a 20", any ideas if I can get it anywhere, or are there any other options. LCD isn`t an option, too pricey.

Thx.

RE: PIONEER DV 350 OR PIONEER DV 454??

The only difference is that the 454 has optical digital output and is a bit better looking physically.

Where did you find the 454 for £112? Is it multiregion?

RE: Scart Cables - Beyondhifi

Great :) Sounds like i`ll stick with this one then.

Anyone happen to have tried both B-Tech and Techlink cables and compared them?

Scart Cables - Beyondhifi

Hi

Just ordered a new player so recently ordered a new scart cable following advice from this forum.

You all seem to like the B-Tech Ribbon Cable from Beyondhifi so I went for it (Link below just to clarify):

http://www.beyondhifi.net/shopping/moreinfo.asp?ProductID=407

Well today the cable came. BUT it`s not the B-Tech one I ordered, it`s a 1.5M ribbon cable by a company called tech+link:

http://www.techlink.uk.com/techlink%20products/home_cin/home03.html
(Second cable down)

I thought tech+link may be the new name for B-Tech or something? It seems an equivelant but is it as good?

Should I email Beyondhifi and ask them about this or is this cable just as good? It looks the same as the B-Tech other than its brand and the colour of the cable.

Thx.

Pioneer DV-454

What are people`s opinions on this DVD player?

RE: Best DVD Player From Following

Forgot to add:

Is there anything better than these, I can go up to £200.

Best DVD Player From Following

Hi

This is my short list of DVD Players:

Toshiba SD220E
Toshiba SD420E
Pioneer DV-350
Pioneer DV-454
Sony DVPNS700

Which would you go for? All within my budget.

I believe the only difference between the two Pioneer`s is the 454 has optical digital output? Is that the only difference? If so i`ll take the 454 off the shortlist.

Also whats the difference between the 220E and 420E, is the 420E much better?

Thanks for any help.

Off Topic: PC ---> Amplifier

Sorry about this being offtopic but I thought someone here could probally help.

I want to connect my PC sound card to my amplifier so I have sound that way.

I have the Cambridge Audio Atlantic cables only problem is, is that there too short slightly, anyone know what model cable is the extension to these?

Thx.

Philips Q50 Vs Sony DVP-NS700

Hi

Narrowed it down to these to players:

Sony DVP-NS700 : £200
Philips Q50 : £250

Would like to see which one everyone thought was the better buy, price doesnt matter as both are within my budget so put that aside.

Also the sites selling them describe them as "Multiregion" so surely that means there multiregion straight out of the box and don`t need a special hack entering as that would be misleading advertising? Or is that not the case?

Thanks for the help.

RE: Which DVD Player For My Budget

Ive been looking into them a bit more now and im really not sure :/

I know I said £300 but that was at a very maximum really so does the Pioneer one justify the extra price?

Sony one seems reasonable at £200 at Richer Sounds

BTW, that Philips Q50 hack you need either a special remote control or palm top, I don`t have either and wouldnt be able to make one so I have to go out and buy some special remote control to make it multiregion?

Surely if unbeatable.co.uk describe it as a multiregion DVD Player, its multiregion straight out of the box otherwise its false advertising? Or is this not the case?

RE: Which DVD Player For My Budget

Thx for the help guys...

I`m gonna go for the Philips Q50, unbeatable.co.uk seems to be the best price at £239 unless you know of a cheaper price?

Also what sort of scart cable should I buy, just a cheap one from dixons
or a more expensive one?

Thx.

Forgot to add:
In some reviews it says the Q50 isn`t multiregion but the shops say it is, will i need a "hack" or will it be ready for any region straight out of the box.

Help needed clayts

Hi

Apparently you know of some site that can help me or something? not quite sure, please read this thread:

Which DVD Player For My Budget

Hi there,

I have around £300 to spend on a DVD Player but no idea which to buy.

I am more concerned about high quality picture and sound for the player, moreso than features such as VCD, SVCD, MP3 etc...

I will be using it mainly to play DVDs and audio CDs so being able to play CDRs would be nice but not a nescessity.

Also VCD, SVCD, MP3 would be nice but not first priority.

So bottom line is excellent picture and sound for £300 or less and the other features after

What do you reccomend and also are there any other good places to buy other than Dixons, Currys, Comet etc...

Thanks for any help.
