James Cameron unveiling the coffin of Mr. Jesus Christ on Monday....

Ben Franklin (Reviewer) posted this on Sunday, 25th February 2007, 14:45

At a press conference on Monday, James Cameron is apparently going to be revealing the remains of Jesus, Mary and Joseph... what kind of reaction could this stir up if true? Anyway, what follows will be a documentary, which will be shown on the Discovery channel in the US and on C4 here. Details from Time.com below.... ;)

Quote:
In a new documentary, Producer Cameron and his director, Simcha Jacobovici, make the starting claim that Jesus wasn`t resurrected --the cornerstone of Christian faith-- and that his burial cave was discovered near Jerusalem. And, get this, Jesus sired a son with Mary Magdelene.

No, it`s not a re-make of "The Da Vinci Codes`. It`s supposed to be true.

Let`s go back 27 years, when Israeli construction workers were gouging out the foundations for a new building in the industrial park in the Talpiyot, a Jerusalem suburb. of Jerusalem. The earth gave way, revealing a 2,000 year old cave with 10 stone caskets. Archologists were summoned, and the stone caskets carted away for examination. It took 20 years for experts to decipher the names on the ten tombs. They were: Jesua, son of Joseph, Mary, Mary, Mathew, Jofa and Judah, son of Jesua.
Israel`s prominent archeologist Professor Amos Kloner didn`t associate the crypt with the New Testament Jesus. His father, after all, was a humble carpenter who couldn`t afford a luxury crypt for his family. And all were common Jewish names.

There was also this little inconvenience that a few miles away, in the old city of Jerusalem, Christians for centuries had been worshipping the empty tomb of Christ at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Christ`s resurrection, after all, is the main foundation of the faith, proof that a boy born to a carpenter`s wife in a manger is the Son of God.

But film-makers Cameron and Jacobovici claim to have amassed evidence through DNA tests, archeological evidence and Biblical studies, that the 10 coffins belong to Jesus and his family.

Ever the showman, (Why does this remind me of the impresario in another movie,"King Kong", whose hubris blinds him to the dangers of an angry and very large ape?) Cameron is holding a New York press conference on Monday at which he will reveal three coffins, supposedly those of Jesus of Nazareth, his mother Mary and Mary Magdalene. News about the film, which will be shown soon on Discovery Channel, Britain`s Channel 4, Canada`s Vision, and Israel`s Channel 8, has been a hot blog topic in the Middle East (check out a personal favorite: Israelity Bites) Here in the Holy Land, Biblical Archeology is a dangerous profession. This 90-minute documentary is bound to outrage Christians and stir up a titanic debate between believers and skeptics. Stay tuned.

"There was nothing in Al capone`s vault, but it wasn`t Geraldo`s fault"...

What is this going to prove? I`m an Atheist, but i`m willing to believe that Jesus and both Marys were potentially real people. Whatever evidence james cameron brings forth will be immediately debunked and branded as heresy by everyone with a microphone.

Sorry, but if you think something as trivial as physical evidence is going to persuade Christians to re-evaluate a story as credible and bulletproof as the resurrection :/ , and come to the conclusion that Jesus was, in fact just a man and not a supernatural entity who could defy the laws of science then you`ve another think coming Mr. Cameron.

Religion is built on blind faith, not harsh reality.

lets just see the thing before we all have a fit ;)

i`m agnostic i guess, mainly because i can`t find it in myself to have faith in anything with so many contradictions, & i don`t restrict that to christianity, pick any religion with a god "icon" i just don`t see how anybody could believe in creationism from a religious point of view.

& i say agnostic because if faced with irrefutable proof of a divine creator/god then i`d accept it, But, not necessarily respect it. whilst an atheist wouldn`t accept it regardless of anything. (i don`t believe in atheists btw ;) sorry nick :D )

oh, but getting back on track :) i do believe in jesus, & he was probably a great leader, just not the son of god :) just a charasmatic nutter who thought god was giving him instructions. with all due respect

I fail to see how this is new as I saw a documentary on exactly the same artifacts several years ago. The bones of Jesus, Joseph, Mary and Mary Magdalene were all found in the same crypt and Jesus` heels and wrists had holes from where he was crucified. IIRC, the location of the holes indicated that he had been crucified on a single pole rather than a cross, which would also explain why he died at the speed that he allegedly did: if crucified on a single pole, death would occur within hours, if on a cross, death would take several days.

I think this was fairly late at night on BBC2 or Channel 4 and there wasn`t this level of publicity, if any. Does anyone else remember this?

Henry the eighth was not born in 1491 as told. This date was made to fit in with the sun aligning with the moon and replaced a pagan festival.
He had 18 (mystical number) wives, not 6 and one was his mother, sister and brother (as he was a mystical bisexual, as can be seen by the Signs of the Crop Circles). He had no children so the royal lineage went off to some obscure French peasants who now carry the royal blood and live in the Pyrenees. An obscure, little known sect called The True Royal Blood of the Pyreneans.
He did not die in 1547 but has become immortal and remains hidden until the time is right, which will probably be to replace another pagan festival when the moon aligns with the sun. The Fall of the Two Towers (not LOTR, but notice the mystical conincidence?!) are a sign....but I can`t say anymore on this, it is far, far to secret. Just Google and you will find loads of info. If you dare face the Reality.
His remains are not in Westminster Abbey.
He was, of course, never king of England.
It was all a well documented lie that billions have believed for centuries.
A film will be made of the truth and not The Truth and directed by none other than Quentin Tarantino, from the new book by Norman Mailer.
