RE: LG 5063 hack gone wrong please help

:D

I think you will find that if you undo the hack (i.e. put the 4th and 7th bytes back to what they were, assuming you did the vcd and svcd hack) it will be fine.
Apparently you only need to change those bytes to 10 (not FE) and it will be fine.
FE sets the player to ntsc mode as well as enabling the svcd/vcd hack

RE: Anyone know of a place to get a cheap Nokia 3310 pay as you go?

You can get the screens for £10 of Ebay - I have repaired 3
They are quite easy all you need is a Torx 6 screwdriver

RE: DVD RECORDER WITH HARD DRIVE TO REPLACE VCR

See near top of thread its the sony model

RE: DVD RECORDER WITH HARD DRIVE TO REPLACE VCR

To be honest I think DVD-R is going to work on most players ,
the best thing to do is try and borrow one from someone and try them in your particular player , but I have various players and DVD-R works in all of them
Plus the discs are much cheaper 49p as opposed to £2 for DVD+R discs

RE: DVD RECORDER WITH HARD DRIVE TO REPLACE VCR

The best at the moment in mho is the panasconic DMR-HS2
This has a 40gb hard drive and will record DVD-R and DVD-RAM
it is around the £800 and is very very impressive , my friend has one
It also has DV-in to connect your camcorder via firewire
There are models coming out from both Pioneer and Sony which have hard drives as well , the pioneer will write DVD-R and DVD-RW
and the Sony will write DVD-R DVD-RW DVD+R and DVD+RW
but again these will all be costly

Hope this helps

Aiwa HT-DV90 problems with dvd+rw and possibly dvd-r

I have just bought one of these from Currys (in the sales for £150 ex display).I seem to have a problem with it if I load a dvd+rw or DVD-R in it.
It seems to lock up and then after powercycling it will only display L+R front speaker icons and will only be in stereo . I cannot change the setting for surround at all - it is completely locked .The only way to get it back to normal is to powercycle it numerous times and hold the stop button in (hard reset ) many times . Has any one else experienced a media problem with this player in the same way ?
I know aiwa will probably say dvd+rw is not supported in it , but I would be a bit concerned if it cant play dvd-r

Many Thanks

Jim
