Cheers guys. Is picture quality compromised when using a box, because of not having a direct connection? Also, should I go for the Argos box or b-tech 21?

Hi. I`m fed up with manually switching my freeview box and my DVD player scart lead to the only available RGB socket on my telly. Is there a device I can get to avoid this? I use b-tech ribbon leads and wonder if there is a b-tech switch box?

It does actually! Otherwise I`m fiddling with picture settings all the time trying to get the best picture possible- with RGB, I can`t ! It seems to be easier on the eyes through RGB as well.

Took a while to reply-sorry! Picture is indeed excellent and
I find it very hard indeed to see any type of flicker- I`ve got good quality cables and use RGB for my freeview and DVD players- have to keep switching cables though as only 1 socket is RGB capable- any solutions to this?

Scart connection help, please.......

Can someone help? Here is my problem-
I have a new JVC TV with 3 scart connection sockets and one s-video.
I`ve got a freeview box, a DVD player and a VCR.
I want to have the freeview box AND the DVD connected to the RGB output, but the tv only has one RGB socket. Do I need a doubler or something? At the mo, I have to keep switching cables around- v.irritating.
Any help much appreciated.

Get the 28" JVC R25. It has 3 scarts + s-video- no connection headaches. I paid 470 quid for mine and it`s a fantastic set.

Hi. I`ve got my freeview box (labgear dtt100) through my RGB socket on my jvc telly (R25EKS). Is it normal not to be able to adjust any of the picture settings? I can only adjust brightness. Can someone tell me which socket is best and explain all this to me?

100hz is scanned at twice the rate of a 50 hz tv therefore giving an improved picture. I believe it to be overrated unless you`re always looking at the screen from an acute angle. Wait for plasma for a few years!
Other must haves are good connections- at least 2 scarts and an s-video. I`ve got a JVC tv which is very good (28").

I`ve got a new JVC tv and am currently connecting my dvd player using a b-tech scart cable. My question is, should I use an s-video to s-video (in order to free up a scart socket) or a scart to s-video? ( what are the point of those?)

Hi Emma.
I`ve got your player too. Is the remote broken, or what?
Call Asda helpdesk on 0870 7571500 and they should be able to send you a replacement- but make sure they send you the right one as they sent me one that didn`t work on my machine! Also, make sure you use very fresh batteries in the remote, as it`s quite a cheap thing!

Have got back to my dealer (AJElectronics) about the tilt and he wasn`t that helpful, saying in spite of the fact that I`d paid 470 quid, I`d had a "jolly good deal" and that he`d have to fork out 30 quid for a JVC engineer to come out and tweak the tv!
Surely JVC should have to pay for the tilt to be fixed?
Seems like rather a load of b****ks to me......
Any advice?

By the way, apropos the SPR100 speakers, my bro-in-law said the speaker cable that came with these speakers is a bit pants, and he`s giving some better stuff- have you invested in some better cable, or are you making do? Must say, sounds great already- my opera dvd`s sound really quite awesome with 5.1!

Cheers chaps. I`ll call my dealer today and try and get it sorted. Is panoramic zoom mode the best for watching normal tv? I don`t quite get all this stuff about aspect ratios etc.- my ty always seems to select panoramic as the auto setting- is this right? I noticed in the radio times that you only get widescreen signals if you are a digital viewer/customer. Analogue is not affected. some other guy said his tv is always switching between zoom modes- mine doesn`t do this. maybe it`s because he`s got digital tv?
Any help or advice much appreciated.

JVC AV28R25EKS tilted picture problem

Hi. I`ve just bought this TV and am very impressed except there is a slight tilt sloping upwards from left to right. I don`t want the hassle of returning it (very heavy!) and wondered if anyone can tell me whether I can get an engineer to come around fix this problem- teletext is particularly annoying!

The fact is, there will always be "Japanese wicket-keepers" on this planet. There`s nothing wrong with them, they are just a bit different to straights. Anyway, I`ve a friend who believes that everyone is "potentially bisexual", eventhough I`m just a frustrated lesbian trapped inside a man`s body.

Quite. All my gay male friends say they knew they were gay as early as 3 years old- there was just something "different " about them. One thing I don`t like about being straight is not being able to get s*x when you want it- my friends just "pop off to the sauna " when they want a bit, and feel heartily refreshed- I`d dearly love to do that on a straight basis. Also, I believe one shouldn`t knock something until one`s tried it- (I did at private school and enjoyed it, until the local girl`s school came to disco night, then boys simply didn`t exist when I saw a pair of plumpies.)

I think it`s important to point out that that what`s natural to one person, is not necessarily natural to another. I`m personally sexually attracted to women, which probably makes me straight. Although I can look at men and be impressed or jealous etc, there`s certainly nothing sexual about it. My life is as a performer on the stage, so most of my friends are gay, or "sausage jockeys", as they humorously refer to themselves as. Their whole life seems to centre around sex and sexuality which I sometimes find a bit tedious- but then again life must be difficult being gay with all the prejudices etc. One cannot choose one`s sexuality, so I`m told.

Alba 16" TV- how much should I ask?

Hi. Can anyone advise me on how much to ask for this TV, which I`m planning to sell in Loot magazine?
It`s a 6 year old Alba, 16" high resolution Nicam TV and remote with teletext + an Ikea shelving unit for DVD + VCR + scart leads etc. Good picture and sound. 50 or 60 quid? Must be collected.
Any help much appreciated, as I`ve never done this before!

I`m getting my new JVCR25 tomorrow- can`t wait. Hope there isn`t a problem with this "tilt" thing. Funny they don`t include an adjustment on the remote for this model. I`ve also ordered the spr100 speakers too. Is there space for them in the cabinet, or do they have to be placed elsewhere?
