RE: looking for a new dvd player to replace Dansai 952

asda offer a standard 3 yr warranty on tv,video and dvd players. if it breaks down within that period u are normally offered a refund or exchange.

RE: PHILLIPS 28PW6816C, ANYGOOD?

Judging by the amount of complaints regarding philips tv`s on this and other forums i would NOT consider this or any other philips tv`s. get a panasonic.

Qed-co.uk

just completed a very pleasant and hassle free transaction with this company.

29/04 placed order.

30/04 order processed.

01/05 confirmation of order and delivery time

06/07 tv arrives on stated date with 3 delivery people who remove it from the box while outside then bring it into my home. then removed packaging leaving no mess whatsoever. they were also very pleasant and courteous.(7 days from order to delivery)

i would have no doubts regarding dealing with them again.

Wide screen TV

at present we have a 6 yr old panasonic not widescreen. we obviosly lose quite a bit of picture top and bottom especially when playing dvd.if we were to replace it with a 32" widescreen would the dvd pic fill the WHOLE screen or would we still be left slightly short at top and bottom?

RE: DVD picture quality

mike

i have tried all day today to rectify this problem .the cut pin 19 is a non starter as it does not make one iota of difference. unlike the problem stated my trouble lies in watching sky-not dvd which is fine-but on sky i constantly get the ghost effect of other channels or a fine vertical line scrolling left to right.

so far in an attempt to cure my problem i have:

1. borrowed good quality leads(somewhat expensive!)
2. cut pin 19 at t.v. end of scart
3.fitted a variable attenuator to my rf lead(hoping that the whole system was overloading).i do have a very strong rf signal
4.replaced my outside rf aerial input with a small indoor aerial from asda

all of these to no avail

BUT WAIT

if i remove my rf input or change tv to a channel with nothing tuned to it my probs disappear (s***ty solution but.....) though if being critical the picture is somewhat grainy.do not think i am trying to pick holes in ur suggestion but i would be very keen to rectify my own prob if anyone can help! come on there must be SOME way to do it!

cheers

Dansai 955 v. Venturer sts 32 theatre system?

i have a dansai 955. i am very happy with the picture quality but cannot disable the macro. the machine cost £80. if i buy macro removal leads this adds £25 to the outlay. i note the in my local tesco they are selling 2 types of venturer theatre sysytems. i note from the web that the older of the two which is the sts32 can be macro disabled.the cost of the venturer system with 6 speakers is £129. would it be worthwhile to change? and does the venturer 32 have a radio tuner? picture sharpness is paramount
thanks all
