RE: samsung 511 help
Untill now this was true for xx9 models only but not for x11 ones. Are you sure about macro on these models? They are very different.
RE: samsung 511 help
Of course it will not work... Macro is built-in in MPEG processor in 511 and cannot be removed by handset hacks or chipping. You need external macro remover.
RE: Phillips DVD 705
What remote model was it?
What device was configured with 0539 setup code?
What firmware do you have?
RE: hitachi dvp305 region free or not or can you give hitachi region free site
Have you already read "Multi-Region Hacks" on the left? If no, go and read before posting questions here...
RE: touble with hack for samsung 511
This hack does not work with some x11 firmwares. Try Aiwa hack.
RE: Philips DVD-710
Probably their modification makes player region 0 instead of auto-region as RC6 hack does...
RE: Samsung DVD 611 hack
Some firmware versions for x11 cannot be hacked with this hack. search this forum for more info, look to forums at http://709online.com

RE: Philips DVD 711 Macrovision and zone hacks for Zone 4 - Australia
Genral opinion is that hack does not remove macrovision. Some VCRs are not affected by macrovision-1 that is why macrovision-2 was built.
RE: need HELP!!! with Phillips hack
You TV is incompatible with NTSC (USA Tv system).
RE: Philips 701 and RCE
No, it`s ok. Player becomes "auto-region", not a "region-free". "Auto-region" means that player will select the region of the disk by default OR region 1 if no region is specified (i.e. region 0 and RCE). Since only region 1 has RCE you are safe. :-)
RE: Philips EEPROM Upgrd resetting counter
Tarin, you need a null-modem cable and you can use the Hiperterminal Windows program. The problem is that you need to know the command set to control your player...
RE: Allan Verth - help with phillips 701/711?
Andy, use 539 as a setup code and follow Alan`s instructions.
RE: Philips DVD 711 Macrovision and zone hacks for Zone 4 - Australia
Did you read "Multi-Region Hacks" on the left?
RE: How to make my DVD Samsung 611 region free
Did you try to read "Multi-Region Hacks" on the left before posting your message?
RE: I need a confirmation on the Philips hack in US player
You`ll need a TV which supports PAL. Philips players do not have PAL/NTSc convertors inside.
RE: Problem with Philips 957.
Alan, now we will have troubles identifying firmwares: there is 8.0 for another models. :-(
Tzl, if you set YES to the beeper nothing will happen because your model does not have a physical beeper inside. You can set PBC on, it will not affect DVD.
About DTS: you need to revert back to your original P number :-)

RE: Region hack for Samsung 709?
Yes, we have a number of reports that recent 709 firmwares do not support handset hack. try one4all "aiwa" hack, it always works,
RE: I need a confirmation on the Philips hack in US player
If this remote has MAGIC or SETUP button, it will work. RC6 hack works on all models with firmware greater then 6.02. Just make sure there is no disk inside the player.
RE: Problem with Philips 957.
Beeper: player will beep each time when you press a key on the remote.
SVCD: super video CD (think about like like about DVd with playing time up to 70 min and no regional protection or macrovision)
PBC: this is a special mode for playing SVCD and VCD 2.0 with menus.
All these features are vailable in selected countries for selected models.
RE: BEWARE! All Philips Region Hack does not Work!
Probably your firmware is too old. You need to upgrade it and use hack again. First, find what firmware version do you have, then try to find the latest one. Post information here if you solve the problem. :-)
RE: Philips 711 firmware 7.12
Where are you from? May be someone will just borrow you this CD if he lives near you. :-)
RE: Possible problem with RC6 code for Philips 750?
This is bacause R1 disks are NTSC. If your mate`s TV does not support NTSC video will be black and white. Try to connect using SCART/RGB.
RE: Philips 711 and svcd
P53. Bought last Friday in Stockmann, Helsinki, Finland.
RE: Philips 711 and svcd
711 plays SVCD with firmware version 7.12 without problems. At least mine does.
RE: Dv-p305e Hack not working. My firmware is V4.03 please help!
The last message: bad example! this site does not have info about Hitachi 305!
RE: DVD player hacked for russian DVD
Disks from Russia is either region 5 or 0 (pirate ones).
Vera, you should buy a remotely hackable player, for example any Philips model (dvd711, etc). There are some inexpencive ones but quality is very good. Check this site for the list of remotely hackable players (http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/info/multiregion/). Panasonic cannot be modified by a remote, they have to be chipped.
For Vern: "to be chipped" means to inject chip into the player.

RE: How I broke my DVD Philips 701 and then how I fixed it ....
elphragle, did I understand correctly: even if firmware is broken there is a something in Philips player that allows to load CD with correct firmware image and repair firmware?
Did your player respond to ON/OFF button? Or you pressed EJECT? What happen after you put disk to player (screen flash, LEDs)? Write more details, please, since it is very interesting issue. Most hardware will completely lock after unsuccessfull upgrade but Philips seems to have protection against that.
RE: Which Player Is The Best? i.e. easy hack, macro etc
Hitachi 305/samsung 511 - depends on firmware version. Check samsung 709
