ive just recieved my sc-2000 yeasterday with the firmware 2.
15 *i think* and all i can say is wow.. none of the problems noted above great picture and sound and plays everything i threw at it even a couple of vcd`s that wont play in my pc!!

thanks i have tried several brands, never heard of princo thou, since posting this message ive leaarned a little more about dvd lasers and it seems that phillips are nortourious for not reading vcds :( ah well my dvd was given to me for free so im not complaining too much ;)

Hi,
Does anyone know if its possible to get my phillips dvd730 to read cdr vcd`s? at the moment when i insert a vcd that i know is burnt correctly it takes 30 secs or so to read then spits it back out again :( it plays store bought vcds fine but if i try to put any of my own home movies in they just wont work...
