Tried buying tickets yesterday on pre order, and again today for Notts, no joy whatsoever.
Absolute joke that people are able to sell £25 tickets for £100 plus. Ebay should be made to take these down by the promotors.

I know its a case of "if you want them, then you`ll pay what any price", but this is getting stupid.
Genuine people who want tickets have no chance when you`ve got people from Newcastle buying 4-6 tickets for a gig in London or Nottingham, then claiming that they are an unwanted gift or no longer able to go (when they have just bought them 10 minutes before listing them) >:( >:( >:(

BT Internet browser continually detecting faults....

and shuting me down.

It happens on certain websites more than others. It certainly happens on this website, ntlworld when trying to obtain my webmail, and also Youtube.

It says "BT browser has detected a problem and must shut down"

I am accessing this site now by going to Google rather than the bookmark in my favourites.

I have on BT`s advice, un-installed the browser, and re installed. done this twice. i have also tried it through exploer, and i have also installed Mozilla firefox, and they all detect a problem and close down.

Can anyone she any light on this problem, or advise what i need to do to hopefully correct it?

RE: PC Boot up problems, is NTL Broadband to blame??

Finally got round to speaking to NTL, and the chap on the tech helpline suggested i run the modem with USB instead of Ethernet. If that did not work, then he suggested uninstalling my ethernet card and reinstall.

Does anyone have any input to the suggestions made by NTL?
Regarding the ethernet card, is that not fixed in my towe?. does he mean physically remove it and replace? :/ :/

Hi

No its not wireless, its the standard grey modem box. Not been able to try any of the above yet due to work commitments, but i will give the above checks a try and see.
If it continues, i will contact NTL and get a replacement box.

Yes that was me. I would have felt daft sayin "hi i`m Oakland Raider!" I was not 100% sure if you were the Dr who not.People may have overheard and thought we were part of a secret society!! :B :B

I didn`t get my previous problem it sorted, i decided to buy a working player and get that
one hopefully looked at by the Dr. or at least someone who could sort it out.

My faulty players will be sold for spares. i have a spare set of speakers and wires, they seem to be more popular than the actual player, so hopefully i can make a little back on them and cover the costs of me getting a working player.

Any help with my query would be appreciated :)

Sony DVD Player - Does anyone know anything about them???

I have 2 Sony DAV SA30 Home theatre systems.

My original player refuses to play, stop, fwd, rwd or even open the tray door. It powers up, the volume works, but thats it.

I decided to buy another player, real cheap and with a slight sound problem off of EBAY.
This player works fine except for the fact that the sound is non existent. The only noise ommited is a crackling/hissing effect. No actual movie dialogue played. Although, when i popped in an audio CD, it played the music, but still had the crackling noise.

Does anyone know A) What either of the problems could be, and B) is it possible to salvage at least one player out of the two knackered one`s?

I thought by buying the 2nd player, i could use it for parts if i knew what was what and how to "repair" it my original player.

I`m pretty desperate, so any help, advice would be much appreciated

LOTR was 3 hours & Harry Potter was nearly 3 hours and they grossed a hell of a lot more. I think its due to the mixed reviews, the film is not as great as the intial wave of 1st time reviews and also, people do tend to say about mixed reviews "i`ll wait till it comes out on dvd"

It costs so much see films at the cinema these days, i`m not surprised people wait till its out on DVD or infact get a VERY good pirate copy of the film.

Makes me laugh when they advertise the F.A.C.T. propoganda film at the cinema which funnily enough features King Kong. F.A.C.T. should be done for scare mongering and false advertising because copies these days aree simply MUCH better than they ever were before.

Just my opinion of course.

Finally got round to watching this yesterday. Mmmm.. not bad, but not great either.

Good points:

Kong - Very well done. Andy Serkis did a real good job with the facial expressions and how Kong acts during the film. The CGI of Kong was well done also.
Kong vs V Rex`s was ok.Although how she managed to survive all that hand tossing
about and being grabbed without being crushed is still a mystery (no bruises or dirt on her!)
Final scenes on the Empire State building. Well paced and well put together.

Bad points:

Film was too long. Trip to Skull Island needed trimming by around 15-20 mins in my opinion.

The brontosaurus chase scene was a bit naff, and the CGI was not on par with Jurrasic
Park.The CGI backgrounds looked a bit iffy as well during this scene, escpecailly when they were falling off the ledge.

The cabin boy who had never fired a gun before becoming an expert marksman when shooting the large bugs!

The scene in the park where the lake is frozen. Oh come on, please. what was that all about? Trying to get us all lovey dovey with the nasty beast just in time to feel something for him before biting the bullet? Totally not needed that scene.

Overall i would say 7 out of 10. Certainly nothing amazing or fantastic about it.

I loved the original, and was looking forward to seeing this. I did like LOTR trilogy, and thought Sir Lord PJ had done a great job with the stories, but Kong was not on par with those films am afraid. :(

Andy Serkis deserves an oscar of some sort for his role of Kong, but if this film does get the "Best" film gong, then i think there must be some really bad films out there for it to win. :/

Sony Home Theatre DVD Player - Refuses to play. Help required...

I have a Sony DAV SA30 Home theatre system. Its just over 2 years old, and it refuses to work on the DVD side of things. The volume and the radio controls work fine, but it just won`t play,pause,stop,fwd,rwd or even open the tray door. It powers up, says hello, and then the display shows DVD, but thats it, nothing else.

I have switched off and disconnected the player thinking it was the macrovision. Hoped it would reset itself if that was the problem, but having restarted it, still no joy.

The player is very clean inside, no dust build up, so its not that.

Does anyone have any idesa what it could be?

I loved him in silver streak. Its about time that film found its way onto DVD.
