RE: Mac Master from Sonel- who has one and does it work?
Hi all,
Yup I have bought one. The cheque was cashed straight away and just as I was beginning to think I had lost my money the Mac Master arrived by registered post along with a PSU nearly three weeks later. It is professionally constructed and it DOES work - only once, for a split second, did the picture "blank" whilst watching the Gladiator DVD through the AV input on my video recorder. Non mac`d signals also work but if it isn`t powered up you only get sound (sorry for stating the obvious!) so you have to keep the mains adapter plugged in if you are using it to watch/tape non mac`d signals via the AV scart on your VCR.
Cheers.

RE: SAVE HASSLE AND BUY A DECENT PLAYER!
Surely any consumer can expect that a DVD player, no matter what the cost, should do exactly what it says it can do, ie play DVDs. The fact that they have come down in price has more to do with the market place than a lowering in quality of components (although this will have some effect). I am not suggesting that a £180 player should be loaded to the hilt with features but I would expect it to do more than splutter when a DVD is inserted, after all, if you bought a lower end of the market car, you would still expect it to run and be reliable but wouldn`t necessarily expect it to have all the luxury extras.
Furthermore, most people would agree that the motor industry over charges for the cost of cars in the UK and similarly the electronics industry could be accused of the same practise. Have you ever asked yourself why some of the famous electronic brand names are still charging £300 plus for a DVD player in this country when they are cheaper overseas?
If all you want your DVD player to do is to simply play DVDs then I think a price tag under £200 is a reasonable price to pay, however, if you want it to scan, zoom, bookmark, make tea and answer the telephone then yes, I agree, you should pay a little bit more - but £300+, come off it!
I am off now to make my own cup off tea.

RE: Best setup for watching DVD on PC ?
Hi
I can personally recommend PowerDVD 3.0, a trial version is available at the following site:
http://www.gocyberlink.com/english/index.asp
You can use DVD Genie to make it multi region. A link for this can be found on this web site.

RE: Gladiator R2 Disc 2 problems
Wish I had come to this forum first! Just posted the same message on the general forum. I think you should give Tesco`s a call.
Good luck.

Wharfedale DVD750 (3rd rev.) -Gladiator R2 Bonus Disk
[Stephen Harris has posted the same message on the software forum - please respond there - cheers paulD]
Any one else having trouble witht the bonus disk? My 750 locks up after playing the opening sequence. Only way to get it to do anything is to switch off and on and eject the DVD. Can "Goto" some tracks before it locks up and the main movie DVD is OK.
Grateful to know of any other owners who are having problems before I contact Tesco.
(Incidentally the DVD plays fine on my laptop DVD)
Cheers
