RE: ALBA DVD62XI

I bought this DVD player from Argos today at a cost of £17.99. Stock no 533/5392. It was Multiregion straight out of the box. It plays anything.
To answer your Question the 10/0 key is tthe one below the 9

What I cannot find is the 3 digit code to use with my Universal remote control.

RE: Philips DVDR7300H

Updated the firmware yesterday v. LR1F. All region free settings retained - no worries

RE: Philips DVDR7300H

Andre

I have had a DVDR725H and A DVDR80 both retained the hacks when upgraded. Never had to upgrade my DVDR7300H yet - but I dont anticipate any problems there.

Love my DVDR7300H just wish the remote layout was the same as the DVDR725H.
Only issues I have, is that sometimes my (NTL Cable) set top box does not get switched to the right channel when on an unatended timer recording.
Strange because it always switches correctly when the recorder is on.

RE: Philips DVDR7300H

Turn on DVD player
Remove any disc from tray
Ensure tray is closed
Open HDD browser.
press Play,
Type in the following numbers
159 12 12 12 005 255,
(Numbers should appear in display while typing)
Press Play
Works with a DVDR7300H/05

RE: venturer pvs 1090

Bought one of these players today. I can confirm the above region hack works ok. (Don`t need to keep re-entering it.)
Very pleased with player. Great screen size and good quality image for the price. No problems at all with car adapter.
Comes with a good bag and all the adapters you need. Think I will find a better set of headphones though

RE: WHAT BRAND OF DISCS SHOULD I USE FOR PHILIPS DVDR70

I belive you get what you pay for. For me Bulkpaq means coasters and verbatim means quality, time after time. The more expensive discs have better protection meaning your recordings will be safer for longer.

RE: bulkpaq discs should they be used or not?

In my experience I find the bulkpaq discs poor for any application. I bought a pack of 25 for general use and after using only 7 I threw the rest away. Read errors with Data\DVD and PS2 backups when burnt in a PC drive. Read errors when used in Philips DVD recorder.

You can`t beat a good quality disc and you get what you pay for.

Check out Philips own brand perfect for the DVD Recorder (argos are cheap for 25 spindle)
or Verbatim 4x spindle excellant discs

RE: PHILIPS DVD RECORDER>to buy or not to buy....that is the question!

I don`t know about the DVDR70 but I bought a DVDR80 a few months ago and it is superb and I highly reccomend it. The features and quality of recording is excellent. It is parctularly good at transferring VHS to DVD. Mini DV to DVD is also brilliant. Not least the discs play in any DVD player I have come accross.

Some people have concerns about the + format but it is the most widely used format in the PC sector and the chosen format in DELL PC`s the leading PC supplier as well as HP/Compaq and Sony, to name but a few. The RW+ format is a clear winner in perfomance.

My brother has a Panasonic and wished he had gone for the Philips

RE: Calling Philips DVDR80 owners

I updated the firmware in my Multi-region DVDR80. No problems at all. Doesent affect the multi Region setup
