The very reason I got my DVDR70. Works fine for me whatever anybody else has to say.

Buy it. Just get an extended warranty to ensure you get your money`s worth out of it. And I`d advise that if you go for the Philips, the Bush or the Panny.

You would prefer another target? A military target?
Then name the system.

The Panny is the ONLY one to buy. The system is far better & is very reliable. The same could never be said about the philips.

Philips DVDR70(R2) at Richer Sounds now £199 (with optional £29.99 3 year guarantee-which is returned if not used)
Advertised in national press (The Times) on Thurs 20/5/04-"if not in stock then ask for £10 voucher and free delivery to home address"

Unless you want to use rewritables in other players, there is simply no justification for buying Philips or,God Forbid,Bush, over a Panasonic machine.
Try searching on the av forums, digital spy,and this site and you will find tale after tale of woe from Philips customers,on both old and new models.Nothing similar for Panasonic though, which speaks for itself

Philips are far supererior machines to the lesser Panasonic models which are virtually obsolete now.
The DVD+RW format is the best and most popular format.
Panasonic RAM recorders will be the new Betamax.

In all the time I`ve been on these forums I`ve never heard a more stupid reply. Clearly someone who has neither done any research on the two makes & systems & could never have used both. I own BOTH systems & the Panasonic is FAR FAR better. I use the Panasonic 20 times more than the plus system.
