Yeah, the Jamo Appolo 1 package is good! Make sure you get the
sub 410e as some retailers try to sell a lower range one.
The sat speakers go loud with as much ease as Silvia
Saint takes a big ---- up her ringer. Don`t pay more than
£450 unless it`s a decent store supported by BADA!
If you live in London...
and you are new or know home entertainment inside
out I can honestly say Unilet Sound and Vision in New Malden
is worth a visit. They have just been reviewed in What HI-FI
and what they failed to mention is they will help,set up demos,
reccomend decent seperates that blend(depending on your
personal listening tastes) sticking to your budget and will not
try and force you to buy! Now I have no connection other
than I like the staff and have and will return to the store.
Anyone else had GOOD fortune from an independant
retailer?

If you look down the left side of the page
there is an icon to change to GB pounds.
Select and highlight (next visit)...GO!
And yes they are cheaper than Play but...
they also take a week longer to arrive.

The Encore has component video, the LG does not.
The LG is DTS and MP3 compatible the Encore
is not.I strongly advise you go for the LG 3350 as
it is clearly the better player with superior picture and
sound. You get what you pay for and the LG is still considered
a bargain in terms of it`s price range.

The A595a is the bollox.Goes loud and still handles
clarity with ease.Fast surround steering. DD,DTS
decoders.Yamaha`s own Digital Soundfield Processor.
Or maybe you mean the E492 Processor. I can`t give
you any first hand knowledge on this one.

Recall on Pioner VSX-839 RDS and VSX-859 RDS
On the 31st Jan the Mail issued an ad with the following:
Pioneer has recently discovered that some VSX-839 and
VSX-859 RDS sold from November 2000 may be affected
by a quality problem. The possible failure of an internal
component could result in thse A Recievers switching
themselves off under certaian conditions.
In addition there is a possibility that some componets on the
circiut board might break down causing smoke to appear
from within the unit. However, extensive tests conducted by
Pioneer have confirmed that this does NOT result in fire.
They will do a free repair. Immidiately disconnect the amp
from the mains and contact Pioneer AV Hotline 0800 0850202
(9.00am to 5.00pm Mon-Fri)
Pioneer wishes to comfirm that NO other Pioneer models are
affected.

Your choice of Yamaha DSPa5 is good. The DVD...?
Is it possible to extend the budget as there is no way
you will be able to complement this set up with a decent
speaker surround package with what`s left from your
£800.oo For £450.oo you could get a Jamo Omega 1
set up.(5 satelites + sub410e) Go with the a5 but, reconsider
the DVD. Try budget Toshiba. Great picture/sound and
coax/s-video connects for the amp to do the work.
