Where to watch football online? (Man Utd vs. Liverpool)?
Hey,
Well my stupid virgin cable box doesn`t work for some reason and the chances of it being fixed/replaced by tomorrow are slim to none.
Does anyone know any online sites where you can watch the game live?
Thanks.
Unbelievable story - worth watching
This is one amazing story, it`s 15 minutes long but definitely worth it.
Very inspirational and I can see this turning into a film.

RE: Anyone a solicitor here? Bit of legal advice needed...
It`s because he changed his mind, or his brother/mother didn`t like it.
He was the first one to say I`ll go home without the car and you can keep £300 and this was when I kept saying the only way to deal with this is through court, etc.
Then when we agreed to £450 everything was fine, but when he went home his mum or brother probably thought no and decided to go back on what he agreed on.
Oh well, we`ll see how it goes.
PS. retrogeezer apparently K_Seal won`t work for me:
"Unfortunately K seal cannot repair cracks where the oil is leaking into the coolant system, only external leaks."
I got that reply after I e-mailed them just to double check. So its off to the garage, although I`m thinking I shouldn`t do anything until everything is sorted out.
RE: Anyone a solicitor here? Bit of legal advice needed...
will do retrogeezer, I`ll check the normal car shops to see if they`ve got it. I e-mail them anyway to ask which shop nearest to me supplies K-Seal.
Yea I got everything back Spangles. Even his part of the V5 document, which has his signature and date when the transaction was made.
RE: Anyone a solicitor here? Bit of legal advice needed...
These guys came from 200 miles away so I`m sure the RAC guy at the petrol station was just a bit of luck.
The car IS back with the original owner after the buyer agreed to give it back less £450 because he can`t drive it 200 miles back home or tow it that far because of the costs.
He offered money because he didn`t want to deal with it, we had no idea what it would cost. The same reason why no one wanted the car back because of the damage.
After a quick phone call to our mechanic and a few questions later he gave us his conclusion of what he thinks it might cost, could me more or less until he examines it himself. And the buyer didn`t want to leave it here and come back another day to collect if he was to ge tit fixed, basically its all down to the time and money.
I wasn`t going to take back a car that is faulty when I sold it when it was working fine, thats when we agreed that he can take his money minus the £450 and I`ll keep the car and get it sorted myself. And if the repair costs are less than £450 I would give him back whatever money was left.
He thought it was fair so did I but now he`s gone and changed his mind (or his mum) and wants the £450 back and leave me with a car which I have to repair.
RE: Anyone a solicitor here? Bit of legal advice needed...
retrogeezer I do have the car now and don`t know if I should get it repaired yet or wait until everything is settled. I didn`t initiate the buy back either, he wanted his money back - fair enough and we kept saying its a legal matter now so leave the car where you please but its yours. He was the one who said at first keep £300 and give me the rest, he obviously wanted nothing to do with the car anymore. I even offered to get it towed back to his home for him free of charge because I don`t want "his" car on my property.
And don`t think he put diesel in as they drove it back and stopped twice to let the car cool down every time it overheated. But who knows, it`ll have to go to the garage regardless to see what the actual problem is.
And about the whole buy back, he was fine before and after he left. We agreed on it without any type of argument, to my understanding he was glad about how it turned out in the end (obviously not including the who car went wrong), but when he got home I think his brother and mum didn`t like it and then it went on from there.
marksparks999 I just have a quick question for you. as mentioned in my firs tpost I called the police for advice, I now have a reference number. Should I call them up and update on hat has happened so they can keep a note of it? Or just note it down myself and use it when its needed, if anything happens?
RE: Anyone a solicitor here? Bit of legal advice needed...
Well according to his mechanic, there is no way to see prior from buying the car if the gasket is broken, only when the engine started smoking/overheating is when the RAC guy took everything into account and looked it over and came to his conclusion. But then again, I never had that problem.
And about sending the V5 document off, I don`t think I would want to do that, then I`ve technically sold the car for £450 when it was sold for over £2000.
I`ll talk to the police and our solicitor and hopefully it stays how it is now or better ye tI get the full money for the car and he takes the car back.
And I don`t know her brothers name so I have no way of checking if he is on the law society`s website. I didn`t insist the car was in A1, because there was obvious nicks here and there, a few fag burns in the seats from the previous owner. I told it has been fine since I`ve had it, no problems at all since purchase. As its a car, things tend to do when they feel like so thats out of my hands.
Anyone a solicitor here? Bit of legal advice needed...
I know I should ask an actual solicitor but thats who I`ll see on Monday but just wanted to get an idea for now.
This is the story. I listed a car for sale on eBay, the buyer was interested and we agreed on a price and he came up to look over it. Prior to coming he asked if he could test drive, I said thats fine as long as you are covered. He asked me the usual and told him everything is fine (as it was), I drove it for a few days straight on purpose to make sure everything is working because I don`t drive the car much.
He came over with his mechanic, checked over the car, exchanged money and V5 documents with all info filled out. He drove it away. About 40 mins later I get a call saying it broke down and by chance an RAC guy at the petrol station looked it over and said the head gasket is gone/cracked, it is major.
The car was sold as seen and if it did have any faults I wouldn`t have put it up for sale because it would have come back to me. So before he came back I called the police for some information. According to them as long as it was stated sold as seen and V5 were signed it`s a legal matter and to be dealt with my solicitor. The car wasn`t through a Buy It Now, I just took the listing off but all the information he got was from the listing and all messages are through eBay (which I`ve saved).
He came back for his money but as bad as I felt it was sold to him and the damage happened in his hands. I kept refusing the car and we worked out a deal that I would "buy it back" from him for £450 less of what he paid because if the block is cracked along with the head gasket its a major job which will cost hundreds - this info was from a phone call to our mechanic. To be fair I said if it ends up costing less than £450 I`ll reimburse the rest of the money and if its more I`ll cover the rest. I bought it back out of good faith even though it was sold as seen legally. The car problem wasn`t there when I was driving it and I truly felt sorry but in the end it was now his car.
It`s just a shame it happened when it did, if it had happened during the test drive (which he didn`t do) then I would have obviously told him I need it repairing, its all on me and no longer for sale. Or if it happened 2 weeks later I`m sure he would have come back for the money.
His older brother called me about 4 hours later and threatened me saying hes going to text me his bank details and the money should be in his account by Monday, if not he knows where I live, etc.
Then I explained what happened and obviously his brother didn`t tell him the whole story and he apologized and that was it....?
Then 3 hours after that his mother called and said her brother is a solicitor and it`s a civil matter and I`ll be done for fraud...
So, what do you all think? I felt bad enough keeping the money (even though he offered me to keep £300) and I`m sure I would be in the same situation if I had done it. But I honestly didn`t know about this problem, the car was fine when I drove it and it was sold as seen and all V5 papers were signed (which I have - both papers actually, since he left his part in the car).
I`m trying to be fair for both myself and him but I feel as though the damage didn`t happen in my hands, it could have happened whenever.
What should I do other than see my solicitor Monday or return the money and be hundreds of pounds out of pocket?
