Hitachi dv-p305e multi region code won`t work...

My grandmother purchased a Hitachi DV-P305e dvd player about a week ago. I have tried most of the hacks I can find (all BUT those requiring an additional remote other than the hitachi model supplied).

I haven`t got any idea why this is not working.

The one I have tried most frequently is: Resetting the machine (Play + Stop held down), choosing a language, pressing repeat, then keying in 3,8,7,6,7, and finally the region I require.

I still have no luck. Aparrently the region the machine is set to is supposed to appear in the corner of the screen, I have had no such number appear..

There are two repeat buttons on the remote, which one do I press?? I usually use the top one, is this wrong??

Please help!

RE: Region Hack for the new Proline 2000 ?

Hi, just a quick note about the PROLINE DVD 2000. As far as I know, the current hack (1,6,7, Mute or disc region no.) will last until the machine is unplugged from the outlet, not for one disc as is stated on the site. And also, the hack will not allow playback of region 1 warner bros. titles such as The Matrix and The Green mile. An error is given.

Please note that I tried the hack without pressing menu first and exit last (menu,1,6,7,mute or disc region no.,exit). I don`t think this makes a difference. All my other R.1 discs played fine after entering just 1,6,7,mute.
