When`s Part Deux going to be over?
When we hit the required number of entries - so the easiest way to get shot of it is encourage everyone to fill it in!
Help I`m being menaced by a squirrel (!)
Ok then - was watching Wimbledon this afternoon with the back door open as it was warm. Out of the corner of my eye I notice shadows on the carpet moving away from the patio doors. I then see a squirrel walking bold as brass across the room towards the hall! I just stared - he wanders up to the telly, sees Andy Murray doing well, then noticed me - and legged it straight back outside.
Half an hour later (back door shut now) I hear banging - he is back trying to get in again. `Hmm` I think.
He has come back a further two times now - headbutting the back door and the patio doors. I wonder is he wants to see the result of the Andy Murray match?!
Weird!!
RE: sky or ntl/ telewest
I recently dumped NTL TV as I never used it as I have two Humax Freeview PVRs.
The latest the PVR9200T is well worth looking at as it does a lot more than Sky+ (obviously with only the Freeview channels) - record 2 programmes while watching a 3rd (a clever trick effectively gives the box 3 tuners) / edit adverts out of programmes / download recorded programmes to your PC for archiving to DVD / you can upload JPG and MP3 files to it etc etc.
And for a one off payment of around £189.
RE: 91.6% !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On BBLB earlier he was still playing the `shock horror I cant believe people dont find me as great as I do` card.
RE: Dr42%er News Alert. Clarke to leave goverment.
Prezza has his department removed (goes to Ruth Kelly). However Prezza still keeps his ministerial salary, his grace and favour homes, and his cars.
One wonders just what the point of John Prescott is these days.
Ah yes - a cost to taxpayers. That`ll be right. Nice one Tony.
RE: Dr42%er News Alert. Clarke to leave goverment.
Yet another Blair reshuffle goes wrong - Clarke was offered other positions - so he stuck two fingers up at Tone!
RE: Premium bond (big) winners: a ruse?
I once won a £1000 a couple of years ago, but since then only the odd £50s or very rarely a £100 every so often.
RE: Adverts on the telly
Never see them these days. PVRs make it so easy to reclaim your life back from ad breaks. I usually only watch programmes on commercial TV once they have been recorded or cached so I can see an hour long show in 42 minutes or so.
RE: What does everyone drive?
Oooh - toying with the idea of a Celica next. Did you like it?

RE: What does everyone drive?
That MR2 costs me about £400 fully comp a year (group eighteen) - living one mile outside the M25 too which bumps the premium up. Oh and I get business use too.

In my view, that`s the best model, best spec and best colour MR2 they ever made - utterly gorgeous
Yeah thats why I didnt buy the new Roadster at the time - went for the last made of that older model and bunged air con into it. Have had it since 6 months old and still only done 28k miles! Still love driving it - and I`ve owned three of them.

Only entered one, didn`t win. I`m idle, but I want a prize anyway
I hope that is for the Epson projector we are currently giving away - a superb prize!!
RE: My Reviewer Comp Prize has arrived!!!
Our pleasure!
RE: Drugs Trial goes bad
LBC just said one poor guy is only 21 years old and his head has swelled to three times its normal size :(
They get paid 2 grand for these trials.

RE: How many reviewer members do we have?
42! The ultimate answer.
RE: Jowell and Mills to go their seperate ways
Yes me too - especially when this Govt was elected (not by me thankfully!) on a "I`m a straight kinda guy / no more sleaze" ticket.
RE: Linda Smith
Heard Jenny Eclair being interviewed about Linda - she apparently was ill for 3-4 years but chose to keep it quiet apart from the few close friends who knew all along. Very proud woman Jenny said. A real shame.
RE: I just don`t get some people.
Some people are just slobs with no thought for others unfortunately.
RE: This Site S-L-O-W?
Zipping along here!
RE: NTL BOX LIKE THE SKY+ BOX??? WHEN!
I read about September - and it will have three tuners.
I couldnt wait - went Freeview PVR!
RE: Cut up your Barclaycard NOW!!!

If you use a credit card you`re covered by the consumer credit act. Company goes belly up you can get your money back from your credit card company. Debit card - no money. Simple as that.
Is there any de minimus limit on that though? I seem to remember anything under £100 allows the credit card company to `get out of it`. Hopefully I`m wrong.
RE: Film Four on Freeview in six months.
Wow this is very interesting. $ky must be worried...
RE: If I dump my Sky+ subscription...
Worth looking at the Humax PVR9200T - effectively has three tuners (record two programmes while watching a third), and can download programmes to a PC for burning. You can also edit the ads out of recorded programmes too. Pretty sure Sky+ does none of these.
RE: Recomend me some audio books :)
All the Michael Palin travel books are well worth hearing (80 Days, Pole to Pole, Full Circle, Hemingway Adventure, Sahara and Himalaya) - his reading of them is superb and they are very entertaining and educational. I prefer them to the TV series!
RE: Ebay & Firefox
I`ve had it with IE too!
RE: Endowment misselling compensation
I used to do this for one of the big consultancy firms working at product provider clients in their reviews of Pensions/FSAVCs etc.
It is worth noting that just because an endowment may have underperformed - this is not grounds in itself for mis-selling and the claim is likely to be rejected. To claim mis-selling you need to provide proof of written guarantees that were used in the selling process.
However, others have been lucky in the claims, but this is not guaranteed unless you can proof these guarantees were there when making the buying decision.
RE: Whats the freeview alternative to Sky+

I can understand the attraction of Freeview, however is Sky Sports available as a Top Up to watch the soccer?
No - Sky Sports News is available on Freeview as standard and Eurosport is on TopupTV but thats it for Sports channels.

Humax PVR9200T Set Top Box - got this just after christmas and been really pleased with it
Yes this is regarded as one of the best Freeview PVRs at the moment - I have the older 8000 model and will soon be upgrading to the 9200. Incidentally this 9200 effectively has three tuners meaning you can record two programmes while watching a third - even Sky+ cant do this. Also you can backup recorded programmes to a PC for DVD burning etc - again something Sky+ lacks.
RE: Recording internet radio ???
Just a vote for Cybercorder 2000 - very versatile little program - I use it daily.
It compresses on the fly to MP3 or you can leave it as WAV if you like. Programmable like a VCR, and has a large range of settings depending on the quality you want to achieve. I have used it for low bitrate 32k radio streams, up to archiving Freeview radio to CD at very high quality. Should do everything you want.
