RE: DVD Skipping - is it normal?

I did the exact same thing, I thought I would get in on dvd cheaply and bought the Matsui 120, I watched 4 films and each one skipped and jumped about 4 times each. I took it back to curries and got the Phillips which has been fine and never jumps. I would take it back and get either the phillips 701 they sell or the Tosh. Both are about £200, you can buy cheaper online but like me you may not have any choice since you are tied to curries now. Do not accept this player if you are not happy with it, just tell them that the player is not suitable for the job it is meant for (i.e. playing dvd`s), it is consumer law that they exchange it.

RE: Has Anyone Used DVDWORLD UK SUPPLIES

Is that www.dvdworld.co.uk ??

RE: dolby digital amps advice?

The 5030 has 6 channel input, which means if your dvd has a 6 channel audio output then the 5030 would give you dts out.

If you have £200 I would go for the Kenwood 7030,
then save up for some speakers.

PS This is just what I am going to do.

RE: MACROVISION

http://www.lektropacks.co.uk

They do a thing called a video copy enhancer, and it is fantastic, it has a sharpness controll and a colour saturation controll, and it defeats the macrovison of video to video as well.

Philips 701 and 711 question?

I though I would ask this in a new thread (I have previously asked in another thread to no avail).

Can any one please tell me if the Philips 701 DVD player is dogged by the 25 times max region change that previous philips players have had?

Also does anyone know the difference between the 701 and 711?

Thanks in advance

RE: Philips 701 seeking info

Cheers lievn I have seen that before, the only worry I have is that it will lock out after 25 changes, I was wondering if the new players i.e. 701 711 still had this unwanted feature??

Also does anyone know the difference between the 701 and the 711??

Thanks

Robert

Panasonic TX28PK3 Please help me!!!!

Georgeous TV, georgeous picture with amazing contrast.!!!!

I have owned this tv for abut three weeks now and noticed when I installed it that it had a small patch of colour in the top right hand corner of the screen, because of the fact that it was installed in a fireplace and was tilting slightly to the right I did not worry too much about it as I though it was becase of the tilt.

I have since mounted the TV on it`s proper stand and find the spot still there, that was 6 days ago.

could someone please help me with the following questions?

1. Does anyone know if the spot will eventually go on its own?
2. If not can the secret service menu get rid of it?
3. Does anyone know how to access the secret web page?
4. Does anyone know of any web sites dedicated to panasonic tv`s that isnt panasonic.co.uk?

Anyhow I have time cos the TV is under warranty for 5 years yet.

Thanks in advance for your replys.

Robert
